new to ms
Hi Guys,
It had been nearly 3 years that I haven't done any upgrade to my mx-5.
This summer I'm planning to switch the management to a standalone system.
MS seems good to me and I want to learn it also.
But I have some questions on my mind about ms.
If you can guide me I will be glad.
Most important part of the stand alone system for me is I want sequential injection and sequential ignition bu COP. KNOCK control will be good also.
Do you advice me to wait msIII or modding msII will be ok ?
I don't want boost control mod unless it is possible to change boost setting by a switch. Or let me express my self like this; is possible to switch between maps by an external switch ?
I ask for switching maps because I'm planning to use WI also. What I'm thinking of is there will be to maps, 1 for daily drive 10psi of boost and retarded timing for pump gas. The other map will be for 14psi of boost, mixed gas and WI.
Also is there a way to control WI progressively by ms ?

You need different maps, just cut power to the solenoid via a switch and get wastegate boost levels. Give the ground back to the MS to be PWMed and get your high boost level.

You can table switch fuel and ignition tables with any MegaSquirt ECU. MS3 also offers EBC table switching for multiple boost targets, which is not something that MS1 or MS2 code can currently do. However, as Brainy said, you can add a switch on your EBC solenoid's ground wire which would allow you to chose wastegate low boost or EBC high boost.

Sequential ignition is as simple as crafting two more ignition output drivers.
