afm is already gone

for sure on a 1.6 there are coolant lines running through the intake manifold and throttle body, i read somewhere that some sensor in the throttle body sends a signal to the ecu based on coolant temp running through it, maybe it was bs but it shouldn't matter now that i'm squirted anyway.

charcoal canister and coolant lines are on the list, anything else i can get rid of that i don't need?

yeah it was for cold starts, it warmed the intake air I believe in the IAC. Just cap them off. pull the guy off the manifold and block it with a plate.

i made one very simple as far as i can see it is a vaccuum actuated valve that lets coolant flow into a part of the intake i just looped the lines together and it works fine.

sounds like a good idea to me.

I have no idea if the MS triggers the charcoal can dump or not.

I removed my charcoal canister and my MS isn't in yet..

IIRC you just loop the hardlines coming to the canister from underneath.

The IAC assembly on the bottom of the throttle body (1.8L) contains a thermal pellet (like a thermostat) that actuates an additional IAC port. Without it the ECU can have problems idling the car not only during warmup but also after driving. The heatsoak on the manifold can cause it to randomly activate. I bypassed the cooling lines and plugged the air passage with JB weld and mapped out my idle so the IAC solinoid alone has no problems controlling it.
