VVT err
Hey and hello ppl with the knowledge about miatas.my friend and his father has joined the miata train and gone as far as buying a turbo kit ECU etc. all the essential things needed are installed and they put the ms3pnp responsebility on me. I have set up all the essentials in Tunerstudio and car starts, we have done alot of auto tuning and some manual fuel corr. car is running fine as long as you dont go past 50% Throttle, if you go 50% throttle it feels like fuel cut or some kind of safety kicking in. Only error we have is VVT could that be why we get the cut?
Sorry for my bad writing but this is my 2nd language.
love to see some responses.
Greetings form Norway.
Car info:

You need to look at your logs to track this down. VVT can cause a significant shift in VE that can be felt.
Do not use the range check or the filter functions for VVT on a Miata.
Logs, look at your logs.

You need to get the vvt error fixed. The link above has the instructions. You can't expect anybody to diagnose your issue without posting a log and tune.

The above guide looks good, 2 points:
Turn range check off
It is only valid for stock valve spring seat pressures
One Note:
Minimum advance on the Miata is 5 deg BTDC, this procedure (and all others I have seen) results in a shift of the actual CAM angle by this 5 degrees, so targets are now 5 + target in terms of real world cam advance. this is only important to nerds like me, but be aware that some FW versions do not like wrap-around (VVT angles outside of the min/max range) and can have undesirable behavior. A fix is to add or subtract a very small amount from the max and min (say 1 degree) to account for the noise seen in the relative trigger angle.
Edit: one key addition, VVT setup for max DC and PID coefficients should only be done with fully warmed oil. Min DC should be done with cool oil, but this is practically challenging. The blanket subtraction of 10% suggested may be adequate to cover this case.
