Before you potentially scrap it:
Do you have the speedo cable? Does it squeeaaaak? Mine is driving me insane...
Also do you have the gauge cluster?

I'll have to check on the speedo cable squeaking and I do still have the gauge cluster. The color is a little faded on the gauge cluster and there is a small crack in the clear cover. If you're interested, I'll do $40 shipped USPS for both.

Do you have any NB rear subframes lying around? The Laz build got me thinking.

You apparently only need the uprights for the +5mm offset, however the NB subframe does give you the mounting points for the ladder brace.

I was surprised to find no differences in bracing or design in the PPF or subframe, from a '92 to an '05, like Mazda did in the interior of the tub.

None, for the reason Josh mentioned below, the uprights have all the geometry change. Most people don't think think about the ladder brace (which is a little different on the NB's). I don't know if the NA6's have the chassis side hole for the brace though.

They don't, but you can either cut those legs off the brace, or drill for some mighty big rivnuts. Those legs that go from the subframe to the chassis are the biggest "upgrade" with that ladder brace.
