Default [fs] turbo bp cams

Well i hate to part with these but i need to get some money going for a megasquirt. I have for sale a set of BP26 cams, these are super rare turbo cams from the JDM BPT/BPD 1.8 turbo awd motor. These cams can only be used with HLA lifters.

Intake cam duration 233° @ 0.003"
Intake cam opening 2° BTDC
Intake cam closing 51° ABDC
Intake cam lobe height 44.094mm (1.7360")
Intake cam base circle 35.941mm (1.415")
Intake valve lift 8.1534mm (0.321")

Exhaust cam duration 247° @ 0.003"
Exhaust cam opening 59° BBDC
Exhaust cam closing 8° ATDC
Exhaust cam lobe height44.600mm (1.7560")
Exhaust cam base circle35.941mm (1.415")
Exhaust valve lift 8.6614mm (0.341")
Valve overlap 10°

OT someone school me why these can ONLY be used with hlas. Ive got solids, understand how they work and this makes no sense at all to me.

Don't believe so, he said 94-97 and I just looked up the specs on the Mazdaspeed cam to compare and they say 99-00 so it would appear that they're different.

i thought i read some where you couldn't use these with solid lifters, but from my few minutes of searching i might be wrong,

You cant use solid lifter cams with hlas due to the solid cams lifting the valve far faster and harder, pushing all the oil out of the hla. Not the other way around.

That doesn't explain why solid cannot use hydraulic, though.

Chances are the base circle is too large, which means once you put solid lifters in and measure for shims the shim distance will be extremely small. You could always have the tips in the solid lifter machined down a bit. Also the opening and closing ramps are much more mild for hyd. lifters. You could make them work, but they won't be ideal.
