oil feed pressure?

I would guess its the same pressure or just abit less than internal oil pressure!
Reason being, my Greddy Oil pressure gauge is "T" onto the oil feed line. And it reads 1.5 bar when the engine is hot at idle.
As for Return line, few people here said there is no pressure at all. And to support that you are required to have you return line at a downslope angle and letting gravity do the work only.

my gauge was teed in just before the restrictor at the turbo like so:
but I moved it to the other side of the block at the feed by the filter.
It was showing normal oil system pressure.
As for the difference between the feed and return, try pissing into a garbage can and tell me what the pressure in your bladder is compared to the pressure in the can. change in flow cross section will change pressure. especially if you don't have enough flow to fill that new x-sectional region.
Not sure what'd happen if you didn't run the restrictor though. maybe would drop overall system pressure and overwhelm the turbo seals?

Why? What kinds of problems are you having that you want to do that. I ran a gauge at the turbo before and after a .075 restrictor at idle and full load. If you want those values I can find them. Though all they'll tell you is the drop is pressure using a restrictor compared to the overal OP of the motor.

a self-contained oiling system would eliminiate the need to tap the pan and would ensure the turbo gets proper lubrication. it would also be a very original idea. but I'm wondering if a constant 50psi would be too much at idle? because normally the pressure increases with engine rpm's. hmmm, time to think.
