Well, The MSpnp data logger showed 153 kpa. The Begi boost gauge never even showed boost. It satyed in Vacuum and at most rose to 10 in of vacuum from 30. Bad gauge??? What would cause a variance? Going to recheck the vacuum line again...

I say the gauge is fuxored, the MSPNP map sensor wouldn't be reading boost unless you had positive pressure man. Unless gremlins blow into your map line.

Well, it should be ****** easy to tell which one is correct. The other one is bad. My money is on the gauge, or more specifically, the line going to the gauge.

This may have been covered already, but how are the two devices (MSPNP and the gauge) connected? Specifically, do they both have individual runs back to the engine, and if so, what two points are they connected to?

There are certain places under the hood where you can get a signal that will show vacuum but not boost. The large hose running to the brake master cylinder is one such place. It contains an internal check valve (barely visible as a lump in the line) and if you teed into that line after the valve to run your gauge, you'd get exactly the symptom you describe.

That said, I agree with the others here in that mechanical boost/vac gauges can be fickle beasts. You should be able to generate at least a pound or two by blowing into the tube- that would be a quick-n-dirty test for you.

Damn it. I followed the Begi instructions to the letter. But didn't think much about what I was doing...I may have put the vacuum block for the guage and the recirc valve on the wrong side of the valve in that very hose...going to check it now...damn damn damn....

I cut that check valve in half when I installed the turbo. $26 bucks for a new one...may possibly be another $26 if I placed the vacuum block on the wrong side.

Ok checked it and vacuum block is on correct side. its time to pull the guage and check the fitting there.

Don't take the gauge apart, just send it back to me and i will send you a new one.

We are switching to autometer gauges because this last batch of gauges has not been up to par.

Cool, Will send. I just realized. when the car is off, the gauge reads 25 inches of Vacuum...hmmm, that could be my problem.

Now to start actually analyzing problems myself before running out and screaming for help. Trained observer my ***.

Well its running soooooooooo rich right now, not to mention I may be blowing the spark out at around 3900 to 4 grand... stumble stumble stumble...jolt stumble...(scientific terms) can't say its that much faster, ie making boost. I am sure it is though, according to MS.

You have an .XLS file that is your log, yes?

At the windows desktop (or wherever the file is), right-click on it and select "Send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder."

This will produce a .zip file which is smaller than the original (usually by quite a lot). Subscribers can then use the "Attach Files" dialogue below the message entry window to attach a file to a message. Don't forget the MSQ file.
