Default CEL Code 14

Just driven back from a friends and my check engine light started coming on intermittantly.

Got back home and checked the codes and I've got a code 14, which apparently is the atmospheric pressure sensor inside the stock ECU and is non repairable!

Now, here's my thoughts....

1 - do I just get a new ECU
or...
2 - do I see if I can repair the existing one
or...
3 - do I just go the whole hog and buy a link?

Anyone else ever had a code 14 come up at all? This is where things are kinda awkward 'cos I drive a Miata in the UK and I need to do a bit of research to see if a standard Jap ECU will just drop in or if I need to get one from the States.

New ECU for the 1.6 can be found pretty cheap in the US around $40 or less so it would be a pretty inexpensive fix, but....if you have the cash, I've never heard of an unhappy link owner...

Link, unless that will cause you to fail MOT.

Well I cleared down the codes off the ECU and they've not come back?

I'm wondering if it was a freak weather condition that we had the other night that caused it to think it had failed?
The reason I say this is there were areas of high and low pressure just a few yards apart. I was walking to the post box that night and you could feel the change in pressure as you were walking along it was that changeable.

I'll keep an eye on it for now, but I've got a new ECU coming next weekend so if needed I can swap out
