Default It came in the mail today 3071r

So after 6 years of waiting and planning it is finally here. If you want details of my order click here and here.

UPS dropped it off at 2pm and I ran to the auto parts and grabbed the oils and stuff I need for the install. I got back and ate dinner and got started at 6pm. I got it on stands pulled all the braces (sport) and exhaust. One of the bolts stripped so I had to cut it off. That cost me a hour. I then pulled the upper manifold and got the injectors in and that back together.

Tomorrow I am planning to get the radiator in the turbo mounted and maybe drill the pan.

As for pictures I will try to borrow a camera tomorrow and get some before I get started.

I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi.

So, its all together. Everything fit fine but the steel lines were a SOB to install. They cant be mounted before the turbo is on and they block the access to the bottom to tighten them. The only access is between the down pipe and the maniflod. The exhaust is touching the bellhousing and there isn't anything that can be done short of cutting or bending something. The rest fits real good. There is a loud clang at start up from the bellhousing though.

So, for tuning. I have new Eee laptop that I bought just for tuning and it has a virus. I have never had a computer get one that causes it to crash but this one is. So now I am stuck not being ablee to tune. I did get the base load and calibration done so it does start but I'm afraid to drive it like that untill I get more play time on the Hydra. I also haven't got the password from FM to allow auto tuning.

It does sound sweet with the 3' exhaust but I have yet to hear it above idle.

The downpipe holes are "slotted" to allow movement back and forth when installing. You should be able to slide it over so it doesn't come in contact with the bellhousing.

Yea the slots don't matter. The bellhousing prevents it from going to the right and the bottom hits the trans tunnel to the left. It will touch either one. I chose the bellhousing. I will address that after I get the tuning done. As long as it idles smoth there is no racket.

I can't drive it yet, I don't have the access code to auto tune. I went for a spin around the block to see how it would act off idle and it starts to pop when it builds boost. 1-2 psi. So I have it parked until I can get a laptop and the auto tune going.

Did it act strange from the start?

I just bought an Eee for tuning too. Right out of the box it was giving me BSODs during the XP first-time startup config, then never would boot normally. I returned it, got another one, and it works great.

All I need is this Miata, and that's it and that's the only thing I need... and this turbo, and that's it. The Miata and the turbo, and this intercooler, and that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one. And this ECU. The Miata, the turbo, the intercooler, and this ECU...
