Default DO I have enough band aids?

My goal is to increase the boost on my greedy equipped 1991 1.6 Miata from its present 7PSI to a more exhilarating 12PSI. The car presently is equipped with an intercooler, Bipes, vortex FMU, 1.8 injectors, O2 clamp and a LC-1 wide band. I have the following parts waiting to be installed, or on order. Walbro 190hp fuel pump, 305 injectors, devils own progressive WI kit with 2.5 gallon tank, cheap MBC, and other small items I can’t think of at this time. I know the band aid method is not the best rout for fuel management, but most of these are already installed and working well. I have given a lot of thought to installing mega squirt PNP, but don’t feel that I have the time, or patients to get it working properly during my brief stays back in CONUS.
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated

Don't buy into that hype or make any excuses. Bandaids are a great way to slowly and safely increase power if you're on a budget. If you can only squirrel away $100 a month to pay for your habit, you're not gonna wait until New Years just so you can snort a whole ounce. True, it's not the best, but bandaids can take you far with a Greddy if you've got a big enough exhaust and you'll be perfectly safe as long as you tune it right.

You've basically got everything there is to get as far as bandaids go. I might recommend swapping out the Vortech for something more adjustable, like a Begi 2025 AFPR... other than that, I think you're totally set for something in the 200-220 range.

Install your HP fuel pump, get a better downpipe, and get (as Sam said) a vortec calibration disk set or a BEGi FMU. And you should be gold. I got 10 psi and 200rwhp out of a bandaid set up just fine

A larger down pipe and exhaust are on my short list, I am going to call a friend in the next few days and see if he can fabricate one for me. I will probably buy the BIGI AFPR in the next few days, I am considering the Multi Role Regulators, having the ability to remove the stock regulator and lowering the base fuel pressure might make it easer to idle the 305 injectors.

The 305's idle just fine... up to about 330's are no sweat to idle. It will be slightly rich at first and a small turn on the idle-mixture screw will fix it. Lowering the base fuel pressure will get your mileage up a little while cruising, but the Begi 2025 is a proven unit that will fit your build nicely. They are for sale used all the time... BE SURE TO GET THE SMALL RESTRICTOR THAT GOES IN THE BOOST LINE!

You say you're specifically looking for 12 psi out of your set-up from 7psi. I'm a band-aid guy from the get go, but somebody has to mention the downside.

I pushed 10 psi with my old set-up, which was basically your set-up without the WI or the O2 clamp. I'll believe Sam when he says your 305s will idle ok, but I could never get mine to idle smoothly enough. I was idling so rich that I could have wiped down the area around my tailpipe and maybe got a couple gallons of gas back by squeezing the rag. My gas mileage was a craptacular 18 mpg. My AF curve was for ****, running super rich at cruising speed on the freeway, and leaning out bigtime through the upper part of the rpm band under boost. The O2 clamp will help smooth out your af curve under boost but my guess is you'll simply run out of fuel delivery before 12 psi.

Oh, and if you do reach 12 psi, you will have to replace your differential one way or another at some point. I'm assuming you already have an upgraded clutch

If i can do it without a FMIC so can you. 12 psi is easy but from there things get dangerous.

Wow FHS, I never had problems like that. My AF is a little rich at idle, but nothing a few turns on the idle-adjust **** didn't fix. I get a religious 24mpg not matter how I drive it at 10 or 12psi. And based on my dyno graphs, it wasn't fuel that was the problem for me, it was knock. I figured I could probably pull a few more degrees with the Bipes (or pull my base timing back to 10-12*) and bump the fuel pressure up to 110psi and run 14psi boost with plent of fuel headroom... maybe get a few more ponies out of it...
The minor power increase wouldn't be worth putting it that much closer to the edge.

I think it's fairly commonly accepted the a T25 w/bandaids is good for 200whp and that's it. The Greddy maybe a little more, like 215whp w/a good exhaust... also gonna put a T3 in the 215whp range also. My knock was in the mid-range when it leans out... still running rich in the top-end.

Actually, I wonder who is the Bandaid Power King... and NEW POST IDEA IS BORN.

Ok more parts ordered today, BEGI 2025 fuel regulator, and the BEGI down pipe. It’s going to take my whole R&R to install all this stuff.

so you just have the basic greddy kit, im looking into getting a basic kit myself but im wondering how long it took you till you wanted more power im worried im going to buy everything needed or an entire kit then a month later want more power... so my question is do you regret not just starting at 10 psi or is 7 a good place for someone to start out then upgrade from there?
