Default Wilwood brake package not fitting with Panasports...

The big brake package looks fantastic but my 15x8 Panasport contacts the Calipers. Looks like I could add a wheel spacer- 1/8" would probably be enough to clear but would I need to swap out the studs? I could also remove a bit a material from the wheels but would be difficult to do evenly. I am a little concerned about contact with the fenders if they go out too much.

Has only one else delt with this already?
Will the studs require replacement if the wheels are pushed out 1/8? At what point would they need to be replaced?

I believe 1/4" is the max on stock studs, depending on how thick your wheel hub is. There's a minimum amount of threads you want engaged to be safe. 3-4 if I recall correctly.

So 1/8" or 5mm spacers are fine.

Yeah...they don't fit my +30 15x7 Rota pandasport reps. Picking up some 5mm spacers to see if they fit with them.

Tried a few other wheels I have also...nothing fits without spacers. YAY.

Which kit are we talking about here, FM or TSE?

Keep us posted. Those of us with Panasports and a mod addiction want to know how this works out.

Just use washers. FOR TEST FIT ONLY.

No point in buying spacers "just to see" if it works.

I just ordered these in 5mm. They look like flowers and would look fabulous on the miata.

I think he's taling about these....these are the ones I have anyway.

Wanted to update the post....Stacked some washers and then went out and picked up a 1/4" spacer and the calipers just clear (it's close!). So if you have Panasports and want the Wilwood big brake kit everyone is selling (currently $499 with rotors, calipers, ss lines, pads) you will need 1/4" spacers to clear the wheels.

I'll finish this up today then on to the Meth system and injectors.... hope to get it all finished today.

Watch your calipers for rub marks. The wheel will flex under normal use. At the bell of the wheel, you need as much as 0.125" of clearance.

My Rota's seem to need 3/8's or 10mm it looks like. I stacked two 5mm on top of each other and it clears with some wiggle room.

Will need longer studs for the 10mm ones though.
