Default FM Stage 2 vs Exedy Stage 2?

I'm planning on doing K Swap soon and I'm shopping for a clutch.
These motors typically make around 180-190TQ
My engine build thread is here
Another K24/K20 Frank Project, Shooting for 260whp - K20A.org

Which clutch setup would be appropriate?
FM Stage 2?
Flyin' Miata : Engine/Drivetrain : Transmission : FM Level 2 clutch

Exedy Stage 2?
EXEDY Globalparts Corporation | High Performance and OEM Clutches and Flywheels

EDIT: Fixed link

Thanks in advance

The exedy link is dead. If your shooting for 190TQ, you could rock a FM 1, as its threshold is 318 ft-lb.

threshold is 318 but I THINK that's the rating for the clutch torque.
exedy is rated 297 but only 189ft/lb at the wheels.

These are the specs for the exedy stage 2 from exedy website.

Specs:
Disc Size 215mm
Spline Teeth / Major Dia 22T / 24.3mm
Clamping Force/Load exerted (lbs) 1322
Disc Material Thick Cerametallic
Number of Disc Single
Type (Push/Pull) Push
Sprung Center (D-core) Yes
Clutch Torque 297
Torque Capacity at Wheels 189
Torque Capacity at Flywheel 236

Fm1 would be perfect for your goal.

Right, since you didn't specify wtq I assumed at the flywheel.

The exedy puck style clutch will certainly be more difficult to drive every day, compared to the FM1 with nearly stock pedal feel. Though I didn't see in your build thread OP whether you intend to DD this car or not.

Oh, my bad on that. This car is for street, but probably won't get driven everyday.
I'm hoping to make around 260WHP and 190WTQ. Not sure if I'll get there but thats the goal.

So, you guys recommend FM1 over FM2 for this setup?

FM1 is perfect for your setup. I plan on 225wtq and I chose the FM1.

I will say though, I regretted it just because in the pit of my stomach I plan on surpassing that later. For $40 more, I would probably buy the FM2 if you're okay with the additional pedal feel.

thanks for the advise, I drive less than 10 miles 1 way and I don't mind the heavier clutch coming from s2000.

The only car I installed a aftermarket clutch was a '04 SRT-4 and put in a Clutch Masters Stage 3/4 6 puck and it was essentially a on/off switch with a fairly stiff pedal but I loved it and even my wife could drive it w/o issue. So I personally would rather have too much clutch rather than barely enough, just my limited experience.

FM2.

no pucked clutches.

honestly a FMI or Exedy Stage 1 would suffice without the extra pedal effort.

I understand FM1 but Exedy Stage 1 is only rated @ 164ft/lb at the wheel.

I have been very impressed with the FM1 clutch after getting the chance to drive a few. The pedal feel is a tad stiffer than stock, but nowhere near what a typical aftermarket clutch feels like, and it grabs smooth and easy. Nice for a street car.

I hate when my drivetrain robs 40hp.
