Default Transmission/Differential Pinion Angle

I am installing a LS1 into a NB miata as well as a ford8,8 (kit from v8Roadster). Can somebody assist in what direction I should be angling the transmission and pinion?

I read there should be 1-3 degrees of angle between the Transmission and Differential Pinion.

Should the transmission be 1-1.5degrees with the trail of the transmission pointing Up (Towards A) or Down (towards B).
Same with the differential, should it be angled 1-1.5 with the pinion point Up (Towards C) or pointing Down (Towards D).

Common sense makes me think Transmission pointing down (towards b) with the pinion pointing up (towards c) but i'd rather confirm this prior to welding mounts in.

IIRC, you have it correct and my trans is about 1.5* down and my diff is about 1.5* up. But yeah, whatever one is, the other needs to be the opposite of it. Just make sure you get it pretty spot on, I've heard quite a complaints from people with nasty driveline vibrations when they didn't get it right

I screenshotted a common image on the internet and fixed it.

EDIT: The third is fine if the right side is a CV joint, which is common lately.
Two and four are good with traditional universal joints.
I'm running the fourth way on my T5 trans swap. I did not have room to get #2 so I had to go all the way the other way to get it nice and smooth.

The second option in the last drawing is the most common orientation.
