Andy Hollis is putting 9" wide wheels on the front and 8" wide wheels on the rear of his one lap of america CRX. Both use 225/45-15 RS3 tires.

my response was directed at braineack pointing out the tires were both 205.

clearly the op wants to look like a dragster anyway so it's all moot.

I thought it was long established that a square setup is the way to go with our rides.

RIDES. RIDES. RIDES.

Same tires? Hmm... I know the reason the STS guys didn't run the 225's in the rear was because of fit and it helped a bit with rotation. But different width with same tires...dunno. Not a fan of that guy, but he does write nice articles.

I have about in inch cut out of the front of the tire well in an attempt to make the 235/60/15's fit. They are 26" tall while the new ones are 24.1".

The only corners these tires will be hitting are the ones seen on the highway. The 6UL/RS3 combo will be on when I want to have fun.

hense why i said "a touch." But what I'm saying is his 225/50/15 in the rear, at .2" less diameter, BARELY fit in the back...

although, my 215/45/16s dont have much trouble in the rear... and now that i think of it, i guess it won't look THAT silly.

I just don't quite understand the point.

Mike, when do you think these wheels are actually going to show up at your door?

Latest emails have said late July. In fact, most of the CR crowd has cancelled their orders because they are already 4 months late.

VarrsToen makes a nicer version of this wheel, too.

As long as they are before August 21st, I don't really care. If they are after that, so be it. If it gets into October, I'll be pissed and moving on. I like playing on sticky tires in the summer. I thought about that little issue also. Didn't 949 have the same issue when the 15x9's and 15x10's started rolling in?

What the ---- man, that looks awful.

EDIT: Well at least the XXRs with staggered diameter will look better than, uh... that.

I'm going with a 60 tall tire, but on a 13" wheel, lol!

That doesn't look to bad. I bet the traction is great.

Spins 1st, starts to hook 2nd, 3rd is a dead hook if the road is clean and warm.

Speaking of ricer, I finally sold the wheels Saturday that came on the donor 94R.

17x7.5 rear, 16x7 front. Got $100 for these bad boys. I'm happy with the sale. Yes, they are going on another Miata.

You only say that after a couple of beers.

As to the other, I'm not one to usually say "good for you" in cases like that, but I'm sure you will be happy with the decision in the long run.
