trav, you can get samples of SOME of the connectors from AMP/Tyco (pins too maybe) and you can buy them from onlinecomponents.com if they're in stock. it helps to know the p/n though. it's around here somewhere.

Don't do like I did. With the MAP tee'd into the bypass valve line car would only idle for few seconds and die.

Its really a problem with distance from the manifold. If you are too far away, and you've got valves and other things using the same line it causes some whack MAP sensor readings. It was a very clean install though!

Hi all, I've got a dumb question: if the Adaptronic is a standalone ECU, why is the factory ECU not being used to stop doors or hold down paper? What's it still doing in there?
Just ordered an Adaptronic from Travis today for my normally-aspirated '99 Improved Touring S race car (which has overbore pistons and a decked head for higher compression--and a custom purple intake :giggle: ). Still having the OEM ECU around isn't a deal-breaker; I was just hoping to be able to run without it, that's all. |

I found a T fitting that I placed in the middle of the manifold to booster hose. I then was able to run the correct sized line from the T to the MAP.

I'm going to make a thicker EGR blockoff plate (which blocks off where the EGR valve used to bolt to the intake manifold) and tap a hole in that, and install a 1/4" barbed fitting in that to run a line to the MAP.
EDIT: ended up drilling out the hole for one of the unused nipples on the back side of the intake manifold, tapping it out to 1/8"-27 NPT, and installing a 1/4" ID barbed fitting there. |
i can't seem to be able to get an o2 reading from my LC1. it worked great with the stock computer, simulating narrowband and giving me a wb readout. but i can't seem to be able to get the connection through the serial port.

You configured it in WARI, right? Also you have to have to have that little plug in the other jack of the LC-1 just like when you are programming it.

In WARI i have LC1 selected for the second serial port on the special functions tab. In the Analogue tab i selected "UEGO 0-5V on spare input" for the Oxygen Sensor.
still no dice. i think that the problem is with the LC1. It appears to work fine in the car, but i can't get it to "talk" with my laptop through the serial cable. The LM Programmer always acts like it is not connected to the serial port. |
