Default Adaptronic Voltage

Hi All,
I am trying to establish if I have a ground loop somewhere or if my alternator is working properly.

If I check from voltage from Adatronic Gauge (F2), my voltage are about low 13v to high 12v and once in a long while high 11v. Is this normal?

What are your readings?

Is this while your car is running, or just with the ignition on?

11 is too low for when your car is running. The stock computer or a voltage regulator(depending on year) runs that voltage though not the adaptronic. I would check it with a volt-meter to just make sure your voltage reading in the Adaptronic is not for some reason low. If it is reading truly, then I would have the alternator tested.

Thank you all for the reply. The Voltage is with my car running. I am using the readings from Adaptronic to get my voltage. This is so I can establish whether if I have any electrical problems.
What do most of you see from Adaptronic?

You should see about 14.5 volts when running or around it. I think others said 13 was ok. The key thing to look for would be to see what the battery voltage is with just the key off, and then turn the vehicle key to the on position check it again. It should only drop a small amount if any. Then turn the vehicle on and see if the voltage goes up. If it doesn't its definitely something in the charging system.

14.7 with it running.
I believe it's 12.7 with ignition on.

My battery is older (and its seen some hard times) so it runs at 11.8-11.9 with just the key on and the car not running. So I guess your battery voltage can vary a little bit.

Thank Travis.
I should have just attached my logs.
When I am on boost, it hits 11.5v, look at row 697, 698 and I suspect it is causing my car to misfire when that happens and I am suspecting I am having all sorts of misfiring because my voltage is not consistent.
What do you think?

Thats too low, and I would guess the same thing. Your dwell time is going to be setup for the car running at an assumed 14.5 volts. If you have less volts then that your going to be running a VERY weak spark. You could increase the dwell to max, but you probably need to get your alternator or charging system in general checked to fix the real problem.

Thats what I am guessing.
The problem is I have just got my alternator changed but it is showing low 13v with the car idling at the battery.
I suspect I have been sold a shitty alternator.

Has anyone logged their voltage when cranking? I'm getting anywhere from 8-9.5. I'm wondering if cranking volts are too low and the reason why my cranking still sucks.

9.9-10V on a relatively new battery during cranking.

nismo, does your battery hold a charge well? is it less than 3 years old?

Mine is usually around 8.5-10V whlie cranking - depending how long it's been sitting. Stock battery from 2001. My cranking sucked until I got hold of a properly setup cranking map.
