EMS vs MS 1.6 test getting started and some questions..
The reason I am switching to AEM is because I always felt like I had to relearn MS everytime I did something (I'm old) and my friend at Lovefab is a product tester and AEM EMS tuner. (He tuned my MS) Also, it got cheapish and I wanted a full standalone anyways.
We are going to try and duplicate everything to truly compare the AEM EMS to the MS (but I am also changing LC1 to UEGO and using AEM MAP sensor). Everything on the car will be identical, including new plugs. Same Dyno, of course. Same manual boost controller untouched and the car was only driven a couple of times after the MS dyno. We are even going to try to copy the timing values from our MS tables. I fiqure if I am going to do it, it might as well be a test. We just need a day with similar temperature and humidity as the last test, thats the hardest part. I will post any differences.
I FULLY EXPECT very similar or identical results. I'm not after more power anyways.
BASIC QUESTIONS....
I want to work on cleaning up my wiring this weekend (wife permitting), from years of Bipes, O2 clamp, and MS, and then wire up the stuff for EMS.
1. On the MAF harness, which one is the ground (my ait is pinned in but I don't know which one is which) and which plug is the signal input that eventually can get switched from 2O to 4F on the EMS?
2. Is there a 5V source in the 1991 engine compartment or do I have to run a wire to the ecu?
Thanks in advance.

When you install your AEM software the manual is in one of the folders
Miata wiring:
Miata Information
Those two and multimeter can answer all your questions above
