Default Looking for basemap

OK... I really hate to have to ask for this...but I have no choice.

I got the car assembled and what I thought was ready for tunning.

Unfortunately, my tuner has NEVER dealt with a stand alone ECU and mostly does Honda tuning (re-chipping and and then tunning), the nearest credible tuner is probably 8-10 hours away and I have no interest in towing the car that far.

NOW....

If i give my setup that I am running... can someone with a similiar setup give me their file to load so that my guy can go from there, just so that he is working with something closer then what I have right now.

This is me:
95 Miata
Bored out 1.8L to almost 2.0L, built with stronger pistons and rods
GT3076
RC750 low impendance
AEM UEGO sensor and gauge (wired in lambda 2, I think, 4J)
AEM AIT sensor
AEM Tru-Boost (if that matters)
MSD 3 bar map (same as GM 3 bar sensor)
04 Toyota COPs (wired in batch fire for now)

Ok... yes...I'm a
and my ***** aren't big enough to even attempt tunning and figuring out the ECU, yet...

Really looking for help ask me any question and I'll do my damndest to find an answer.

A tuner that can't really tune isn't a tuner is he? I don't have a similar setup so I can't really give you any base settings. I'm sure others will chime in...

BTW, you might want to specify what ecu you are running....

I am assuming he is on an AEM ems box since this is ems forum.

Basically the mods you have listed only a few will really change the base map provided to the point that you cant drive it.
those would be the following:
RC750 low impendance
AEM UEGO sensor and gauge (wired in lambda 2, I think, 4J)
AEM AIT sensor
MSD 3 bar map (same as GM 3 bar sensor)

Ok, that being said there is a few ways you can tune it so you could drive it to the tuner depending how in dept you would like to go, but if you just want to be able to pretty much peg-leg it to the dyno this is what i would do.

first, open the aem basemap for your car. from here you are going to have a bit of trouble getting it setup since its not stock right now to sync the timing, but you should be able to get it running.

RC750 low impendance injectors- right click the fuel map...change fuel injector/pressure... set your stock injector size (early 1.8 is 265cc iirc) and then your new injector size with the same fuel pressure (if the pressure is the same that is)

AEM UEGO sensor and gauge (wired in lambda 2, I think, 4J)- easy, click the setup menu...sensors...o2...o2#2, wizard... then chose the aem guage type.

AEM AIT sensor- similar to the wbo2... sensors, ait, wizard.

MSD 3 bar map (same as GM 3 bar sensor) (this one will be harder for you to do) there are 3 gm map sensors in the aem wizard. so make sure you have your ecu connected first. open the view...parameters. type in baro and get the barometric pressure reading, nd then type in map and scroll to get the map as load parameter. change the sensor with the wizard like the iat and wbo2 and get the gm map that is the closest to reading baro pressure with the engine off.

Note: Changing this sensor will change your load breakpoints and will generally cause your car not to run without changing it around... here are 2 options:

1. change the breakpoints back to what aem had them at stock (write down the breakpoints from the base cal and put those back in), but the top 2nd line set to 101kpa (atmospheric pressure) and the top row to the max boost you plan on seeing ever. do not hit max boost because your tune isnt good for it. from here go to fuel...advanced fuel...fuel trims...boost fuel correction... table. slide to your last 2 values for your table, and for your top load reading (say its 18psi you would want to add the percent of fuel added when you are above atm pressure 14.4psi=100% more fuel,28.8psi=200% more fuel, etc) also change the tming in the very top row now to say 10 degrees all the way across... just to be safe.

so basically you are running the stock aem vaccum map with boost compensation up top with very low resolution. so if on your drive to the tuner you hit positive pressure driving up a hill you wont lean out and explode... this does not help you rip around at full boost everywhere.

2. retune your map completely... the aem values in vaccum work good enough to start there... and you can log some and tune it... timing is tough and i dont know how you want to do that.

I hope this makes sense.
I prefer to help people do it themselfs than feed it to them and them try it not knowing why it affects their car.

Try that and then post the map you come up with and i will look at it.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!

between us, we got the car started and running (not driving down the road though)
I'm at work now, but will try the breakpoints tonight.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience, i wish you were closer!!! Kingston isn't THAT far!

Send me a pm or an email at [email protected] and I'll send you my current map. I have a 96 with 550cc (high impedance) injectors and a 255 Walbro fuel pump and a built motor.

They're not perfect but at least they will let you start it.

BTW; don't forget that your injectors are low impedance and mine are high impedance. This means that your injector settings will be different than mine.
