Yes. There are photos on here of wool tufts being blown inboard through vents at the base of the rear window.

I would assume the best location would be at or near the top of the rear window. I suspected that would be the favored location.

I would assume so but again it may be a case for smoothing rather than ventilation then use that to help ventilation.
You could try a hardtop spoiler edge with opening below it.
