Looks like they are running the pimping version 2 motorsports spares FSAE ohlins. I figured a baller team like that would be running the baller Kaz FSAE Penskes. The trouble with FSAE cars is that if the program is done properly they're made by students. That means the frame is put in a student made frame jig by students and welded by students. Fuckups, they happen.
I'm also pretty sure that every single team makes their chain guards the same way and uses the same rustolem flat black paint on them. Lol.
What I love about these cars is the gems. Like the aluminum water bottle coolant catch tank on the 11-12 car. Or the odd bubble pre-plenum in the intake.
Speed difference could come down to drivers. 4 seconds could easily be a driver in one of these cars.

What I was look at was the advantages of running a radiator duct is
better more efficient cooling
--The air isn't trapped under the hood causing less air flow(since I have a full underbody)
Less drag
--On one of the pics that Plucas graced us with, In the pic there is the low pressure region that would be the exit for the radiator
--Getting rid of that low pressure region will increase the downforce on the front
Since I am doing an engine swap, I will be changing the angle of the radiator from factory 8 deg angle to around 30-40 deg angle.

I'm debating doing something like that to the Miata if the need arises, my only concern is getting proper flow through and out the hood. Does anyone have a sim or do the strings test to see if there's proper flow going out the hood..?

Take some cardboard and tape it up to mock it. Show us what you got, thats the only way to know for sure. But with the stock amount of room looks plenty.
I tried searching so forgive me if this is a dumb question but how did you get the fender gap on the side of your car 1993ka24det? is it just mounted stock on top and pushed out on the bottom?
I have tires that stick out from the stock fenders so if i run a crusher style air dam that covers the front it would be great to widen the fenders like you did. I might even run a front diffuser too if i do.

I looks like the air going under the car through the side skirts is coming out the diffuser. The air under the car is partially coming out the trunk lid and the air going into to the rear door ducts are feeding the rear radiator. Correct me if I am wrong.
