Dual duty mild aero
Hey guys, clearly 9LR/singular wings are the shiznik. Wings like the apr gtc-200 are functional as well, lower mounting and 3D airfoil, and whatnot. I've considered just going with a 2nd trunk and running real "aero", but I often DD my car and don't want to deal with the front splitter setup required to balance this stuff out.
So this thread is about mild wings/spoilers that don't require major front downforce to compensate.
I stumbled across these guys today, digging the looks and it definitely looks like it should be functional.

And

These are pretty new to the scene, and most track rats would want more. What I'm looking to discuss is if the mounting/foil/design/etc. are "functional" from a bench racer perspective. What do y'all think? What else fits this criteria? I liked the BBFW lexan spoiler as well and considered it, but damn it's ugly.

Serious question.... what is the car being used for?
If it's for something competitive, then you'd want to max out front and rear downforce per the class you are in (generally)
If it's more for looks, well.... just do whatever you want... There's nothing wrong with that, but don't expect to get a pile of detailed feedback on that topic here from a huge group of "function over form" guys.
I had a BBFW lexan spoiler with splitter before moving to my NLR wing with larger splitter and I wouldn't ever consider something more modest again, even with daily driving the car.

Think of it as a "street car" that I race and compete with (and drive to the track, which is nearly 3 hours away). Hence my discussion of mild (functional) aero!

The 9LR Street **** has been great with no real front aero, just a full ducted under tray and hood vents. It really takes the light unsettling feeling away at the top of 4th/5th gear ;D I haven't had a chance to A/B test it anywhere that it would matter yet but it definitely feels better at speed on the highway.
I do plan on doing a sneaky splitter built off of a R-package front lip but a couple of my friends that are way more experienced drivers than I am drove the car at a track day recently and they didn't express any concerns of it being unbalanced. This wing in particular also has a couple gurney flap options and a dual element kit to further fine tune it.
I'm not anywhere near experienced enough for it to matter but it makes my ricer heart happy and there seems to be some actual testing and data around the 9LR stuff.
This is really as far forward as the wing can be and still maintain function of the trunk. I'm not 100% sure how the wing you posted attaches, but it looks like it would interfere with opening/closing the trunk if it's attached to the chassis the same way the 9LR stuff is.

Street **** is cool too, and definitely functional. While it looks chassis mounted, the one I posted actually bolts to the underneath of the trunk lid, so it's not chassis mounted.
