There is a fine line between "Ricer" and wana be ricer. I am not really going for the ricer look just hoping some dummy out there will think that even though in the back of my mind I know better.

On another note. I need to see if someone can give me some information. I have previously talked to Dr. Tweak about re-doing my Toyota harness witch he said he can make into a "Standalone" harness. This means I only have to piggy back a few wires into my Mazda computer for power, ground, key signal and something else. So the Toyota ECU handles the engine and the Mazda ECU handles the body. This is all fine and dandy but I think I can do it myself and save $500. I need some input on what you guys think. I need to know what and ECU in general need to run by itself. I know some of the stuff but could really use some help. Is this as simple as finding the main power, ground, key signal, starter signal, and fuel pump signal and wiring those into my mazda stuff and then letting the Toyota should handle the rest. If there is anyone in Md that would not mind meeting up one day or talking on the phone to go over this if you are good at wiring that would be awesome. I am going to Toyota today to get all the pinouts for the ECU. If there is anyone in general that is willing to take a look that would be awesome. I am a novice at wiring and I would like the help to reassure my self not that I don't think I can do it I would like some experienced help on my side.

Some of those function would be seperate (or can be done seperate) from the Mazda ECU pretty easily.

Once you get a little more into it I'm sure you can get away from that paperweight altogether unless you need A/C or whatnot.

Do you have the factory service manual or wiring diagrams? If so I say go for it.

I don't have them right now but am going to Toyota to get all of them Mazda and Toyota. I do not have A/C or P/S, so that makes things easy and I am not running any EGR stuff on the new engine so that takes that out of the loop. Please remember I am not sacrificing A/C and P/S because my car never had them to begin with it is a base model the only thing power it the brakes. lol Maybe the engine now.

Is there anyone out there that is willing to discuss some wiring with me? I am going to need some help with it and I figured I would ask here.

Ok I got some more work done tonight and all the intercooler piping is done and I think it looks awesome. Tell me what you all think the lower pipe is out of the turbo to the intercooler and the upper is out of the intercooler to the engine and the upper took me a while to figure out how I wanted to run it but it good to go now. Before you say anything there are no couplers because I am waiting for them to come in. Here are the pics it is getting closer. Also the piping is made out of aluminized pipe and all my intercooler piping only cost $50 to make all of them.

I still don't believe the exhaust lol. But i love the car. I want a video of big, nasty, burnouts please.

There will be more than enough burnout, drift, launch, drive by, and hood flame videos to go around as soon as I get it running.

From what I've seen the NA miata ecu has almost nothing to do with the body wiring. Most of the connection from the body to the ecu are to adjust the idle when the A/C, PS lights, kick on or to turn the fuel pump on. Check in the Megasquirt section for ecu wiring stuff and you should be able to figure out what miata ecu connections you need to worry about.

What year is your car?

That is good to know I was figuring I could find a lot of the wiring for the miata in the megasquirt section now it is just time to mesh the few things I need to.

On another note I am interested to see what people think about my fabrication of the inter cooler piping. Weather it looks good or bad. I think it looks awesome but I made it so that does not count, let me know what you guys think.

Your silicone coupler is going to melt; and your intercooler piping is going to be glowing red...

k, I wouldn't pay for the wiring diagrams unless you really need paper copies. Check out this link.

The coupler is really close to the turbo but the last SC300 we did a NA-T swap on we wrapped the coupler really good with exhaust wrap and after 2 years it is still good to go and the first part of the charge pipe will be wraped just to keep the temp down. The only other option would be to buy the $800 intake manifold and I'm not gonna do that I could buy a 1J for that price.

You are just filled with useful miata information. Hells yea. I can print anything I will need off of that thanks again.

I did the same thing in a similar situation and it worked for me as well.

Worst case I will carry and extra coupler or two for that one and if for some reason it dose burn it out melt it I will have something to replace it with.
