I think that only CEO (800+hp) here has larger than 3" - 86mm???

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=242677

In the latest issue of modified magazine they test a supra with a 3" and a 3.5". 3.5" gained something like 60hp peak and lots under the curve as well.

You could also do a transition to 4" or what about oval piping?

http://www.ovalexhaust.com/ovaltubes.html

Don't know what the pricing is like on that though. Wait here:

http://www.burnsstainless.com/304ovalsstubing.aspx

Ouch $60/foot!!! but that is stainless.

Here's the modified article:

100hp gain at 19psi. not bad.

Instead of an extractor hood, have you thought about scoops?

Something front facing would give just enough clearance:

This is not weldable but for ideas:

This one is actual steel, from amazon:

Jegs also has some nice weld in scoops-- not sure if you saw them already. they are $140.

I'm curious how you would fit 4" piping under there. I know with this swap everything is different and you don't have a ginormous subframe limiting you and what not, but still 3" is a pretty close/tight fit under there, a whole 1 inch larger would be interesting to see done

I don't think 4 " is going to fit very well, I was definitely pushing the limits with 3". But im in for the attempt, lets see what you can come up with.

I have to hammer the corner of the passenger side floor to make room as well as cutting some more of my k frame out. The only reason I think I have room is the sump of my oil pan is on the front of the motor not the back so it gives me a bunch more room to sneak it under the motor.

In other news the car got to see 130 mph tonight in 4th gear but bad thing is the jam nut sheared off the front of the turbo so my turbo is F***ed. FML So beyond getting my new motor in I now need to find another turbo and make the down pipe. I think I am going to look for a HX 40 it should work pretty well for cheap.

I am deff looking into the weld in 4" cowl that should work for what I need and it will not be that bad to see over I got to put that mustang hood on a while back and I can see so that is the plan. Also not shore if the exhaust is going down anymore, my new plan is to relocate the fuse box under the dash remove the washe fluid bottle and out the fender with a 4" pipe it will be sick. Anyone have thoughts on this?

OK i have been fighting with this for the last few months of what to do with my exhaust. I like the idea of the flapper but it is really kinda neck and it would get old fast. My next thought was to get a full 4" under the car but I have come to the conclusion that this will not work with my custom cross members. So I have found a solution as stated above I want to run it threw the fender like the above picture just higher up the fender like in the s2k in the vid below. Along with this I am going to run a muffler as pictured below to knock some more of the sound down should be sweet. In the mean time I am still looking for a turbo. lol

I cannot get the vid to embed so if someone else can that would be awesome.

Yea I like it a lot. It sends most of the sound outside of the car. understandably it will still be loud but with a muffler it will kill a little of it and it will be nasty to shoot fire at ricers next to me in traffic.lol

I've seen this S2K before too. I paused it on the engine bay shot and just stared at that dinner plate sized turbo.
