LMAO! wow Sean. Honestly? I signed up on this forum b/c I'm impressed by how well your project has come along. And you egg this little penis wrinkle on?. Hey Faeflora, type all you want dude. I could care less what you have to say. You've been insulting me from post 1. And yet you don't know squat about me.
But that's alright. So just keep working on it. You'll get better at it one day. Lmao!

T6690gst I am very glad you are interested in my build. I am always happy to help anyone who may want to go this route one day. I happen to know Faeflora outside of this forum and he like most on this forum do not like when newbs come in and ask dumb questions. So normally they get flamed out then if they stick around they are most likely here for information and not just to ask dumb questions. With that said your questions was valid I just do not have a good answer other than I do not think it will effect my build.

I am very happy to have all the support I can get. This project is taking much much longer than expected but at this point it is ok with me. I have to say if I had more money I would do some things different but I am just a normal guy with a want to go fast. I am trying to prove to people you do not need amazing fabrications skills or tons of money to go fast. My fab skills are mediocre at best and money is slim. When this is all done I am going to deem it the poverty wagon. Lol Also now that you have stuck through all the flaming you should be in the clear. I would be aware that out of all the forums I have been on this one has more useful information than not. Almost every other forum out there is not like that and all the members know if they flame someone out real bad then they will retreat to clubroadster.net.

Note though that Sean's mechanical/electrical/automotive engineering knowledge/ability to execute is in the top 99.99% percentile.

Since this is buried in the 17+ pages, I'll repost the link:

Hey I am just a guy who worked on cars for 5 years. I knew nothing before I started out of high school. As far as the wiring goes. It took lots and lots and lots and lots of reading and research. I will say that the internet has lots of good information other than porn you just have to find it.

P.S. I really do not like to read but I am starting to enjoy it more now that I read stuff that is interesting to me.

t6690gst 08-16-2011 03:17 PM

I appreciate your response in the matter. With that being said, I will be man enough to apologize to Faeflora, ( not dissing you Faeflora). Without any expectations or need of him accepting my apology, for that is up to him. He's after all entitled to his own feelings towards me. I honestly don't have any hard feelings towards him. Life's too short for that.
I was always told, " No sincere question is a stupid question, it's simply the answers that make the difference." I guess different ppl have their own perspective on things.
All in all, if you have any question that I might know the answer to. I will try and answer it or them( multiple questions) to the best of my ability. If I don't happen to know, I will ask the person I believe will know right away.
God bless, and continue forward with your endeavor. For success lies in the end. :)

I am glad to hear that and as soon as I get a chance to work on my car again I will be updating the tread so everyone keep an eye out. I am currently trying to find a way to make a tps adapter instead of paying $125 for one.

dubtastic 08-21-2011 10:25 PM

I am a huge fan of this swap and wish you the best of luck with it!

Just a little update. I found out that the nissan TPS that my throttle body is made to work with will not work with my ecu. So Greddy sells an adapter for the throttle body to my toyota TPS for $100. I do not like to spend money I do not need to so I made my own tps adapter. It adapts the D-shape shaft to my two tang style tps. I still need to locate the roll pins on the one side but that should be done today. So here is the tps adapter from the scrap bin!!!! FREE!!!!! Here are some pics.

I will add a few pics when I get home or tomorrow but I would like to further my proof that if you wait you can find good deals. Today I scored a new front bumper with no damage other than 3 small surface scratches and I mean surface didn't even go through the paint. I also scored a carbon fiber hood witch I am going to feel a little bad cutting it up but it was cheap. The bumper was $25 and the hood was $100. So I think that is some of the best deals I have snatched. All I need now is a new front fender and trunk lid and I will be good to go.

casey9091 08-22-2011 07:07 PM

I guess ill start comein on here more and see what's good with you car. Maybe one of these days it'll be done and I can go for that ride you said you would two years ago lol. You find all the deals on everything its not fare. When's the car getting moved to the new place? Let me know iv got some time to kill now a days.

natedawg 08-23-2011 12:06 AM

Man I can't imagine a 2j in a light ass chassis like a miata... My old car was 670whp mkiv that car moved out even at 3300 pounds.

Here are the pics of the completed tps adapter. When using a Q45 style throttle body on a supra if you use the stock 2JZGE TPS it will work fine the GTE TPS spins backwards. I have a pic of it on the throttle body but it is not working correctly I will load it later. I know the tps things means nothing to the miata guys but it may help some of the supra guys or anyone doing a 2j swap into something weird.

For comparison Greddy $100 adapter

Chinese $75 adapter

And my adapter. I used the ring that came with the throttle body you can see the extra holes. I am not worried about seeing any extra holes it was not worth it to make a new ring. The two holes with the red lines are where the tps mounts now.

You can see in this pic I had to extend the stands for the TPS mount so there was enough room.

And here is the only real damage to the bumper witch does not bother me in any way. The two mounting tabs are broke off.

For $25 it is in perfect shape if you ask me.

Ok not much of an update but I picked up a new set of seats for the miata. I was unsure on what I wanted to do for seats. I thought about kirkeys and some other brands of racing seats but ultimatly this is a street car and I want to be comfy when driving. I am also a big guy so those 15" sparco seats are not gonna cut it. I came across a great deal on a set of FD RX7 cloth seats and decided this is what I am going to use. I will be using 4 point harnesses and these seats. They already match my interior and they do not look like they will take much to get them to fit. I could not find any pics of a miata with these seats in it but I am sure there has to be a few out there. I cannot believe no one has tried. If anyone has any pics of these seats in a miata please post them up. Also I will be moving my car next weekend weather permitting and then I can really start to do some work on it.

Faeflora 09-06-2011 01:54 PM

Are those bad6as's old seats?

Oh and btw if you want someone to hang out with you and slow you down while you work lmk ;)

Sean 09-06-2011 01:59 PM

No these are ones I got from a guy at my work. They are the same seat as Bad6as but his are suede and mine are just regular cloth.

Hopefully next weekend I will have my car at my house and you can hang out and slow me down. I have nothing else to do when I get home but work on stuff so stuff gets done.

The miata is now at my new house. This means I can really start to work on it again. Starting with washing it.

Yea!!!!!!!!

Sean 09-14-2011 05:35 AM

Ok so I got the intake manifold mounted to the engine and it looks super huge and fits great. Should be perfect for this project.lol I started final assembly of my wiring last night in hopes to get the harness on the car and at least test it with the F/IC hooked up to see if it works. I want to have it at least started again by the weekend if not it will have to wait for another two weeks because I am going to the beach.HELL YEA!!!!
