You're not adding a curve to that diffuser?

I am confused why should I add a curve to my splitter? Unless you are referring to the diffuser and no it will be mounted at an upward angle I am not really skilled enough to make a curved diffuser that I like yet.lol

Yea I contimplated making the diffuser curved but after figuring in what it would take to make it versus a straight one I just figure I will mount it at an angle and call it a day. Worst case I will make a new one if need be.

Ok so I got some work done on the car yesterday. I installed my wideband, coolant lines, charge piping, and got the car running. I got the FIC working and it seems to be working pretty good. I have to do a ttttoooonnnnn of tuning and I am not great at it but with time I am sure I will get there. Good news is I was able to drive it up and down the street and and it seemed to run pretty good. I am waiting on my fender flares to come in and need to mount my wing. I think as soon as the flares come in I can mount he wing fenders bumper and new headlights.

OK along with everything else I have been trying to get done I started another little project. I have an aftermarket hardtop. It is a snugtop and I have had it bolted down for as long as I have had it. My dad has a snugtop but he has latches so after a lot of searching I think I found something that will work. I started to make a set of latches for it. This is what I have so far and I will post up some part numbers tomorrow. I ordered some latches from mcmaster and then made a template for the base. My hope is to use stock striker plates because I want to use the soft top as well. Here are the latches I got and I could use locks on it if I wanted to and made some mounting plates out of 3/16 steel plate and want to weld the latches on.

So after 6 years of owning a hardtop I finally have latches for it, and to top it off they fit with the factory catches and were only about $30 when all said and done.

I am going to make a DIY thread on them because people are forever wanting to know where they can get some latches or where to get parts to make their own and as soon as I finish my side latches I will post a thread on how to do that. I am really pleased with how they came out they match the line of the roof really well and do not look stupid. To make it better they have a place to put a lock so I can have my cake and eat it too.


Here are the pics. I had to modify the base plates I made yesterday because they needed more clearance. These latches are super strong and hold the top down nice and tight. They are easy to adjust and I opted for the steel version just so I could weld them. They also make a similar latch in stainless. I am posting the pics in order or process as best as possible.

Ok got some work done on the car today. No pics yet but I will get some tomorrow when I get home. Got the wing mounted, fuse box mounted under dash out of the way, ecu mounted to the floor/firewall out of the way. Need to mount the fic and trim the glove box to fit the fuse box. I did a little more tuning today and we got the idle smoothed out at bit. Car idles around 800 rpm and at 13.7-15.0 still bouncing a bit. I am trying to keep working on it as much as time will allow.

Here are some pics and I started to wire in my wideband gauge last night and realized I must have been smoking crack when I installed my other gauges so I ripped them all out and I am going to rewire everything. The farther I get on this project the more I hate half ass crap so I removed all old wiring including some stuff I did about 5 years ago and I am starting fresh. There are pics of all the wires I removed. Rear diffuser is not attached it is just sitting under the car until I can mount it.

How much of the bumper are you going to cut out for the diffuser?

I am going to cut 4-4.5 inches out of the bottom plus the lip will be coming off so compared to that pic about 6 inches will post some pics when i do it i want the bottom of the diffuser to be almost flush with the bottom of the bumper or higher

Ok got home today had to throw some brakes on my girls car but I was able to get the breather set up made for the 2jz. Here are some crude pictures but it is 5/8 aluminum hard line with flare fittings. The routing on the one picture looks kinda weird but that is how it has to run to avoid all the other stuff it has to run around, like the charge piping and oil feed. I also welded a -10an bung to my venturi check valve so it is all screwed togeather and looks legit.

I'm still loling over the oil feed, but you can't argue with functionality.

Oil line is functional and easy to remove when needed.

OK so I am going to do some work on the miata today. I installed an aftermarket tachometer into my stock gauge cluster. It looks really good IMO and it has an integrated shift light. I will also be installing my other gauges like the oil pressure, wideband, boost. I will post some pics when all done. Here is what the gauge cluster looks like.
