Nope. 52-58mm does just fine in a Supra. Your gonna have to warm that thing up for an hour or two, lol.

So is the meth kit really just a pump that sprays meth into the intake all the time at a constant rate or is there tuning involved?

The radiator is a little bigger by volume than a supra twin core race radiator witch is fine with me because it wont get hot lol.

As far as the meth goes there will be in boost reference switch that triggers the pump and there is tuning involved but in my case it will be tune the car on pump gas no meth then turn the meth on and turn. The timing up slowly. But if you want too you can use meth injection as extra fuel to one cool the intake and two run more boost.

So I finally got my harness installed in the car. I was able to install it in the cowl and I think it came out great. I am glad I took the time to put it where I wanted it and not just through the firewall like the stock harness. It looks much better and I think it will function better too. Here is a pic of where it is in the cowl I will get some more pics of the installed harness later and as soon as I get all the stuff mounted under the dash I will get pics of that too.

you better make damn sure no water goes on it since thats one of the places where it drains into from the windshield/hood.

It is well sealed with rtv. I assure you of that I was super paranoid that water would leak there. I put rtv on the connectors and installed them into the plate then put a thick bead of rtv on the cowl and the connector plate then installed it. I do not think it will leak at all. I am also going to take the idea from astroboy of the cowl cover plate this will help to minimize any water that may have gotten in there to begin with. I do not see my self having any problems with it.

On a side note I got my one coupler in today and let me tell you 4"-2.5" looks retarded. Take a look for yourself.lol

wow, just read through this whole thread and this build is insane. I was thinking about doing this build as I have a buddy who has good connections with getting these motors and could get me one reasonably cheap but, it seems to damn involved to swap it into a miata :ugh: .

Well thank you. I would love to see someone else build one and to be honest this car has gone ten folds past what I originally planned. I would have been perfectly fine with a small single turbo at like 375 hp. But as with anything I do it starts out kinda half assed then just snow balled into something much bigger and better. I am happy it is going the way it is just takes a lot more time than I originally planned. Hopefully it really starts to fall together in the next few weeks.

I am undecided if I will put a door on the cover or what but I know this. I was being a little baby and not wanting to put them there either until I got some encouragement from some friends. Now I love it and it will make the engine bay that much cleaner. I am going to need to do something to be able to access them just not sure what yet. Today is the first day without rain for three days so I will hopefully be cutting out a card board template for my cowl cover tonight so I can make it tom. Now that you said something I really need to think about a access door.

Another note. Does anyone have inputs on these following items.

1. For a front splitter I am going to make Aluminum or ABS? I would use wood but this is a street car.

2. Wipers or no wipers? I am afraid I may mess up the harness with the wipers and to be honest I do not see myself driving this car in the rain ever again. And remember worst case I will use lots and lots of rainX

Wood is cheapest and easiest to make...and locally available at your local home depot... use wood. Wipers.. i'd use at least one on the drivers side for a rainy day. (Rainy day...see what i did there? :P)

I don't have wipers on as of present and when we took her out to break her in it was raining :facepalm: I will most likely have mine on, you can rotate them so the blade is on the plastic cowl so they are not in you sight when driving. They don't get all the way up the windshield when like that but they are still sufficient.

I would do the splitter out of abs personally.

Ok so I need to keep the wipers that should not be that big of a deal. As for the splitter I was conveniently at a plastic supply warehouse a few weeks ago for work and picked up a sheet of 4x8 1/4" black abs for $60 so I have abs I think if I was going to track the car I would go wood for ease of replacement but for a street car I will go with the ABS. Anyone else have input on this?

Hey man props for this build. I've been lurking for a few an saw this. I'm impressed. I was actually looking at doing a 1jz vvti swap as I got a free motor with everything from a jzx100. Looks pretty involved but I think I can do it. I'll use this thread as reference though lol. Good thing they're basically the same engine minus .5L of displacement.

I am glad you like it. There are a few things I would have done different and a few things I have changed but one major thing I would have done it use a 1jz block at a minimum. The 1j is almost 1.5" shorter than the 2j and that makes a huge difference. If you need any help or information please feel free to ask.

Yeah man that was my thoughts exactly. Shorter stroke shorter overall block. My original intent was a 2jz because I'm a toyota nut and i really love my 2j. But what am i going to do with 3 liters of destructive force in a Miata? Probably things I cant tell my mother. But the 1j from experience is pretty rev happy so i should be happy with it as well.
