Update: I have my block back from the machine shop and have started assembling my bottom end (sorry no pictures.) However, I've run into a problem. The pin hole on my connecting rod is too small. It's about .05mm too small. Great, another setback. It's looking like I might have to take my rods back to the shop to have the small end honed to spec. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just try to return my rods?

I had to hone mine. I was lazy and cheap and just did it myself. 800 grit sand paper around my finger. It took hardly anything. 1000 miles so far on 20 lbs boost. With the wrist pins floating in the pistons, I don't think it was even necessary. What do the rest of you say?

That's what I figured. I guess that's what happens with these China parts.

That sounds sketchy I'm not sure I would be comfortable doing it with my finger. But if it worked for you maybe I could rig up a way to do it? A drill maybe? I do wanna know what everyone else thinks? According to this manual I'm reading it is necessary that the pistons float freely.

A drill would scare me. Just take them into the shop if your worried. Or use two fingers. No, threeee.

Your talking about half a millimeter. That's .009 on the radius. Nothing.

Okay since you guys seem to think this isn't a bad idea I'll just use my fingers and carefully check my clearances. I don't wanna wait any longer for the machine shop or spend more money.. lol

I used wd 40 on the sand paper. Clean and check a bunch

Full disclaimer : I am not a pro engine builder. I'm broke, lazy, and like to tinker with stuff to the point of catastrophic failure. It has worked fine thus far.

Update: Thanks for the help guys. After hours of carefully fitting I got the wrist pin to fit perfectly. Also by the way, those wirelocks suck, my thumbs hurt. I then put rings on and popped the pistons in. I called it good for the night at 2, I'll finish the rest tomorrow

You can kind of see the contrast of the green in my blue engine bay. I can't wait to put the engine back in this thing it's going to look so mint.
Looking forward to seeing this happen!

Kawazaki green??

I used plenty of lube but after going for hours there's only so much good lubrication can do for you
