Damn that is an eye popping blue!

This looks like what happens every time brainey posts an over-saturated 'no filter' pic:dealwithit:

I learned a long time a go that messing with saturation is a no-no. It rarely makes a photo look better without the background looking terrible. It's all about histogram color balance!

:noob:

Saying that I'm still learning photo editing.:crx:

Any thoughts on the slim NRG quick release hub?
NRG Innovations Thin Version Quick Release Kit

I like that it doesn't add too much length to the steering column. I have long arms(+3 ape index) so I don't want it up in my chest too much.

Nice, didn't known he got one for the Porsche. My Momo wheel is pretty tired, leather is pretty worn out. Thinking of stripping it then sending it to you to wrap in catzskins bar tape, I don't trust myself to wrap it and rather leave it to a pro like you brother. Figured it was cheaper and would last forever that way.

Midtenn 11-17-2013 08:16 PM

Avoid the thin and go with the standard. A friend of mine had issues with the thin version not wanting to lock in place. I have a standard version and I've never had an issue with it.

Thanks, I figured as much with it being slim, thanks for the heads up.

You and I both know brother that is impossible for me to do. I cant ignore shit!

Which is a segue into my next update....

Totally dismantled the totaled car and scavenged every bolt/clip/grommet I could off it just in case. Have it sitting outside waiting to be picked up by the salvage folks.

While I have the wiring harness out that I am going to put into the 1990, I decided, why not delete some wiring! If only it is that easy right?

So far I have deleted AC, radio, rear defrost, rear antenna, seatbelt/seat/airbags, speaker and power windows.

I could probably go further but I am not to motivated to do so. I didn't take too many pictures since I was so busy I totally forgot about my camera.

Small pile of yanked wires and AC compressor.

The start of the dewire.

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1384757528

Since I have OCD, when I pulled the frame rails to transfer to the new car, I noticed that the P.O. filled the hole with sealant(I'd do the same) but it gummed up all the bolts and nuts and washers. Since it felt wrong to put nasty bolts onto a fresh undercoat I broke out my Tap and Die set and cleaned all the threads and fixed some threads that had deformed.

I was so into my work I didn't even notice a friend take this picture. I was in the get-shit-done zone. IF you are wondering what I'm sitting in it is called a crazy creek chair. 2 pads held together with webbing. Makes sitting on the floor feel like you are in a recliner.

Also my parts for my transmission speedo gears came in on Saturday. It'll be nice having the right speed read out on the 3.63 R&P.

Getting closer! I feel like this thing is about to fly together after a little more paint and cleaning. Keep it up, you haven't made all of us lazy yet.

Harv 11-18-2013 11:18 AM

I made my AIT wire this weekend! :giggle:

Fireindc 11-18-2013 01:19 PM

Nice updates! I lol'd at the ape index thing, I've got that too. My armspan is 6" longer than I am tall. You said you are a +3, how the fuck do you measure the rating? It's always interested me.

rleete 11-18-2013 02:16 PM

What's with all the slacking off? I haven't seen any real progress in hours!

Thanks, it feels like I still have a lot of little stuff left to do though. Hopefully with the body and panels out of the way I can finally concentrate on that stuff now.

Ape index is measured by putting your back against a wall and putting your arms out (like a bird) but without stretching, just natural arms out to your sides. Measure the length finger tip to tip:giggle: and then measure your own height. Pretty simple, only reason I know is because I climbed for a long time.

Sorry! I'll get back to work mastah,

Been mostly waiting on the body shop to pick up the car. They came 3 hours later than they said they would..Hopefully it will be color code 448 in a week!

I hope you weren't that upset about a body shop being 3 hours late...

Most of the ones I've dealt with are usually about 3 months late.

Also, who's MDX in the background?

My mom and her friends are big time quilters. They are having a "quilt retreat" week down here. It is one of her friends.

Sorry I'm a stickler for times. You say you will be here at 2 or you expect me at 2 you better be there!

That pressure plate wear is normal. Nothing to worry about. That long spring was probably part of some ghetto rigging of some sort.
