Could it have something to do with how low your turbo is mounted?

Skip the engine entirely and inject the fuel and oil directly into the exhaust. Kinda like a ramjet, but 2 stroke.

I have this problem with similar mounting. Except it's coming out of the intake.

Anybody wanna trade a gtx2873 for an efr6758?

All plumbed. Waiting on someone to crank it for me so I can test for leaks and prime the turbo.

Got about 30 miles on it. No smoke yet. So that's encouraging. Track day tomorrow will tell the real story.

I've got a gtx2867r but I'm not trading.

Maybe my shaft is tighter against the seals because it is a larger diameter.

It's a more snug press fit because my tolerances are tighter.

Needs a bit more of an interference fit.

Oohhh, Garrett!

stop wasting time and remove the turbo already. that will once and for all confirm if it's engine or turbo.
heck, you can even just bolt an open header on there for the few hours it will take to diagnose the car
just .02

I agree, removing the turbo is the best bet for really narrowing down what's going on. As much of a pita as that might be, it's probably the best solution

Nah, need 1000 more post and hours wasted fixing things that are not broken.

If you didn't have a stock header laying around, could also just buy a flange/Vband and make a little turbo-bypass piece, so you can just unbolt the turbo, and swap in a pipe that connects the manifold to the downpipe, I've seen that done before and probably wouldn't take too long to fab.

He has a NB2 sitting in his driveway without insurance or tags. He can pull the header from that.
