Another FP Auto-x build
Hello. Low post count so I decided this was a good way to up it so people don't think I am scamming them when I try to buy things.
Intro: I co-drove Shawn (fourwhl's) FP car for a couple years before I decided buying a Fiat was a good idea. After campaigning if for a couple years I jettisoned that car to Carvana after this season and decided to ruin a perfectly good running 2001 in an effort to get back into prepared life.
Out with the old in with the new.
It wasn't running when purchased. After some troubleshooting the immobilizer was missing. Fired it up, got it back on the trailer, towed to the DMV, and titled in my name.
All the old crap came out:

Progress has stalled a bit as i am waiting on parts. Knocked out some small stuff the past couple days.
All 4 corners are together and of course on the last coilover i find that it is a bit too close to comfort with the extended ball joints and wherever the eccentric bolts landed. Didn't like it, so I pulled both fronts and took a bit of material out problem solved.
Swapped the reinforced differential housing on. Awaiting some bushings so I can button up the rear.
I wanted to get the inner and outer tie rods in today, but the ones that came off the car were less than ideal and I am missing the lock washers for the inner tie rods. Ordered. Waiting game at this point.

Desk grommets for the canister holes. Some seam sealer has these not going anywhere.
hardline deleted
splitter assembled, going to need to figure out some mounts that don’t interfere with the future ic piping
followed fourwhl’s guide to tapping a valve cover for an fittings
shiny intake sitting on the motor

Yesterday was a refresh myself on every way to extract a bolt day. Note to self: turn kerosene heater off when using the new torque wrench as you can’t hear the click and inch pounds are a lot less than foot pounds.
after cleaning that mess up I decided to take on the quick task of removing the exhaust studs to insert some fresh replacements. It went equally as well.
NA alternator on
Valve cover on (sans one bolt)
Replaced the -8 with a -10 so both fittings match
look at that, my order from October 4th finally decided to show up. Might actually be able to get the differential back in the car.

Don’t randomly throw stuff away. Tossed the expansion tank on accident so I had to pick up a new one.
Intake side of the motor is buttoned up now that the gaskets arrived. New fuel rail and injectors in. I took the opportunity the broken valve cover bolt presented to upgrade all the hardware to stainless.
one half of the turbo arrived. I found a deal on a lightly used unit with the wrong ar for my application. Exhaust portion ordered and on its way from full race.
