I've had those soften and drop wheels when left out in hot days with the wheel hanging from them. No idea what material mine was made of but it looks the same as yours.

Passenger footwell filling up. Held off on putting the door bars in until I was done crawling in and out of the thing.

More bars.

The integrated harness bar of the hard core bar sucks. The seat would have had to have been 3-4 inches to the right for it to be remotely workable. The bolt in harness bar also sucks. Stacking washers should not be a solution. If I had to do it all over again I would have gone another direction.

First dyno session was a bummer. Couldn't get boost under control and had a new haltech o2 sensor start acting funny. Didn't get a lot accomplished. We tuned all the off boost stuff and called it a day. I got the car home, swapped in a new o2 sensor, and swapped from a 14lb spring setup to a 12lb spring.

I went back to the dyno on Saturday. Still had boost control issues with the 12lb spring. Moved down to 7 and into a range where the solenoid would start doing something. Things went well. Goals were accomplished. Fun noises were made. On the last pull of the day an IC pipe blew off. I didn't think much of it at the time.

There was an ever so slight weep at the return line on the fpr. Not enough to worry, but something I wanted to care for when I got home. Pulled the fittings and one was missing an oring on the orb fitting. I don't recall installing the fittings in the regulator and think it came this way, but if not I missed it. Easy solve, new orb fitting with oring installed, fired the car back up at home and no more weeping. Well, no more e85 weeping.

While I was idling the car I saw water hitting the bov. Freaked out for a second wondering how that got there, then noticed a nice stream coming from the radiator. Looks like that IC pipe did a bit more damage than I thought when it blew off and sent the corner of the bov into the radiator. I pulled that IC pipe replacing the front main and must have been a bit light on the torques reinstalling. I have some of the fan mount provisions open and guess i will build some sort of guard to avoid in the future.

One step forward, one step back. New radiator on the way. I'll pull this one and attempt a repair and throw it on the shelf. Fun stuff.

Outside of that I have been trying to figure out wing mounts. I was messing around with the 3d printer making some various spacers for different mounting solutions. I ended up escalating things, and bought a swag offroad press brake to get the angles right. It will help with the splitter mounts as well, so looking forward to getting that in my hands.

Pulled the radiator last night. Really happy I made the decision to fill with water as it went everywhere.

Mocked up the radiator saver 9000 to prevent the random bov/radiator interference from happening again.

I have been trying to get this car to a test and tune the past couple weekends and keep running into roadblocks. I ended up getting sick last weekend, killing an opportunity for a local test and tune. Then ran into problem after problem preparing for this weekend.

I have had the opportunity to run the car in a parking lot down the road. While doing so I ran into a couple issues. First the FPR wasn't quite keeping 1:1 and was throwing a fault. Second and more of an issue the car would intermittently lose dbw. Got back home and looked over the car/pulled some logs. Vacuum line to the FPR was loose. Easy fix. More concerning the battery voltage was off the charts, peaking at almost 20v. The ECU is rated for 18v, my working theory is with the liability of dbw it would be the first thing the ecu would dump if it were working outside of parameters. I was able to locate an alternator locally and got it swapped in. This is where the fun starts. I go to power up the car and nothing. First thought was I blew the only fuse in the car so I swapped it out. Still nothing. Started chasing issues. The car was running a lithium battery. I would reset it, test it, it would test well. Start going down the line and get no reading. Come to find out (after 20 or so minutes pulling my hair out) the battery would reset, then after a period of 3-4 minutes go back into fault and shut off. Guess the voltage spikes did some work on the internal BMS. Whatever, i'm done with lithium at this point. One issue, the battery box/cables/tie down were all made for this battery. Guh. A trip to battery plus bulbs with the battery in hand allowed me to find a comparable size AGM length and width. Height was an issue.

I was able to get away with only rebuilding one of the battery leads. None of the local parts stores carry a spool of 2awg. I ended up buying a package deal and cutting it apart to get what I needed.

Now to address the tie down. Not the prettiest thing, but I got to use my new brake and it serves the function of holding the battery in place. I'll eventually redesign the battery box and figure out a different tie down solution that will allow for more battery options in the event this issue presents in the future, but for now it works.

We have power (again)

there are people that have luck with them and run them for years. I am not one of those people. Killed 2 in the fiat. Thought the self regulated alternator and being mounted in the passenger compartment would help me make one live. Nope. AGMs in my cars from now on.

Finally making it to an event, which just happens to be the pro finale/nationals. What could go wrong?

Whew. What a week. Prosolo was horrible. The car had a DBW issue on the practice course. Something somewhere in the ECU was randomly telling the tb to close. Pedal and throttle body signals looked fine. Went as far as finding a replacement NC throttle body and the same issue remained. Changed the max TPS to 85% and adjusted the pedal dampening. No more issues. I am still going back and forth with Haltech on the root cause, but for nationals the car worked. Ish. Got to running and had fuel pressure issues. Ultimately pretty aggressive fuel cut. It is a stock OEM sock, but anything below 6 gallons would fuel starve. I'll throw a hydromat in it to resolve, but it didn't help my day 1 results. Day 2 was eh. 2 runs with the car actually running correctly however I was still listening for problems. 3rd run is the first I felt I drove the car without thinking about what may happen. It is still a bit faster than me as the video shows, but it made 6 runs and powered back to paddock. Super pleased. Don't think I'll shake a car down at nationals in the future, but the week ended much better than it started.
