Default disassembly

really didnt take that many pictures, not really the most enjoyable thing but sanded down the bay and took out as much as I could without going crazy

soda blasted the headlight frames

these little extra steps make such a difference

Default paint

self etch, great tip I learned from a friend is heavy duty alum foil, works great for covering wire looms and anything thats just awkwardly shaped.

just used a few coats of new rustoleum spray paint, matched pretty well

vht wrinke on the valve cover

Default complications

knew I was going to find a few issues while pulling engine, so I ordered new mazda comp mounts ahead of time

also ordered flyin miata hood lift piston things to clean up front of bay

as well as stoptech ss clutch line as it always seems like a pain in the *** bleeding the stock line lol

when I pulled intake I noticed some fine dust, I put the old air filter up to the light and could literally see through it, so yeah dont cheap out and buy shitty ebay filters lol.

new aem goodness; and yes the filter cover doesnt really restrict flow, atleast id hope so for $30.

Default before & after

overall really happy with how it came out, brought my hood and bumper to my dads work and we are going to respray it as I dailied the car last summer and kind of neglected it, but honestly ive noticed past few years less and less miatas on road so be nice to make it look like a nice example.
