Great progress! If you need parts printed or laser cut, hit me up. Located in Greece, but shipping from here is cheaper than most places.

Oh thank you! I found a "local" place, since I already had the aluminum stock and I'm waiting to get a quote from them, but I might reach out to you soon!

I made this render today. Obviously it's not a professional model, but I couldn't help looking back at my first render from November 22 and comparing it, and I must say I'm pretty happy with how the 3D stuff is coming along. Now I just need to make the real thing 😅

this is insane! Any tracks in the south that you plan on taking it to? Knutstorp, Mantorp, Falkenberg? would be awesome to see and hear.

Bra jobbat

Tack! haha The plan for this season is to drive only with TimeAttackNU, so that will be Gelleråsen, Kinekulle and Mantorp. Maybe you're already joining, but if not and you're curious, they have the schedule up on their website: https://timeattacknu.se

Hey, sorry, the build is in full swing, and I've been meaning to update here for a while, but it's been absolutely hectic. I feel like I always say that, but it's getting progressively more hectic pretty quick lol. I've been posting almost daily on Instagram, but don't always find the time to write a longer update.

There's a lot of stuff happening that I can't quite share yet, but the TL;DR is that the car has to be running in 3 weeks, so the bodywork and aero have taken a back seat for now. The main bits left for the car to run are the intake/intercooler piping, fuel system plumbing and wiring harness. That's a lot, but I have all the parts I need and everything is already in progress, so there's still hope, but it will be VERY tight.

The only part of the bodywork that couldn't wait was the fastback, since the print was too fragile (newbie mistake, the later parts are a lot better) so I needed to finish it in order to get it out of the car to work on the fuel system. I laminated the carbon, and the result is pretty rough, but it's as expected. The plug wasn't great, it made no sense to make a mold, I'll race with this for now, but I'm already planning a V2 done right, with a better plug, proper mold, vacuum bagging, etc. A local company also helped me out with the wing ribs and smaller mounts and got it cut out of carbon, really cool stuff. The wing uprights should get cut this week as well, and I'm finalizing the rear fender flanges so I can get it printed while I focus on the mechanical parts.

I'll try to write a better update soon, but in the mean time here are a few random pictures.

Oh! Also we had a huge car show here in Sweden last weekend, so I had a little side quest and printed this little model to bring since I couldn't bring the real thing:

Just saw Supermiata reposted a story from him on Instagram yesterday. Seems he's been posting on his story on and off but not a ton of full-on posts.

Hey! Sorry, I've been terrible at keeping my build threads up to date, it's just been tricky to find the time... haven't even updated instagram much this past couple weeks as mentioned.

Unfortunately the car isn't driving yet, but the build is in full swing. I missed the first test day by a mile, then couldn't get much done for about a month as I had family visiting, which means I automatically also missed on the first competition day... I'm currently trying to make it to the second time attack round which is only a couple weeks away, so I've been spending every last minute working on the car, which is why there haven't been many updates.

The current state is:
- All the carbon panels are "done". Most of them need a couple bits of reinforcement from the back side, just to be safe, and they need a final sanding and clear coat. Bumper and hood still need to be mount to the car.
- Wiring is about 90% done. Just finished wiring the PDM and body harness today, missing the gearbox, which seems surprisingly simple with the CANTCU, a few more CAN bus things, and 2 or 3 connectors in the engine bay
- Finished welding the charge pipe today, still need a couple bungs for sensors.
- All the big stuff is mounted for real now: engine, gearbox, driveshafts and axles, rear suspension, etc shouldn't have to come out anymore

That's pretty much it, what's left is about 1000 small things, which always takes a lot longer than I wish... Between the fuel system and coolers I have to make 15 hoses, need to make a downpipe and exhaust, finish bolting down a couple and then the car should be ready to drive.

I guess I also haven't shared here that Link is now the main sponsor for the build, which is just surreal to me. I just want to get this thing on track so bad... but hopefully it should be very soon 🤞

Here's what the livery will look like, plus a few random photos of the progress:

No worries on the lack of updates. You've obviously got a lot going on.

WOW, man this thing is just gets cooler with every update. Can't wait to see it in action. Major congrats on the Link sponsorship, I've been starting to look at them as a future upgrade. If you have any thoughts about the ECU when you get around to tuning I'd be interested to hear them.

Super cool build! I'm very interested in your opinion of the Voodoo ECU once you have more experience with it. Congratulations on the Link sponsorship!

@Z_WAAAAAZ Thanks for keeping your build thread up to date, as well as others

Damn... That thing is wide. Can't wait for tad to update us with the finer details, and to see what this thing is capable of.

Jesus christ, that is sick, when I saw this thread pop up I honestly thought the projected build timeframe was near impossible. Need OP to chime in, but like Zak said.. he's clearly been busy.

Was thinking about the same thing, man. I've seen some other posts of his in the last few months. Thing's running and has been on track more than once. They ran into a driveline vibration issue and ended up splitting their first 8HP70 transmission in half, but said they've got it all dialed in now.

I believe you can punch in their Instagram handle on a web browser and scroll through their posts even if you don't have an IG. I'd highly recommend taking a peek.

Indeed, thanks @Z_WAAAAAZ for updating the thread, it's been a wild 10 or so months. I completely dropped the ball with the build threads, and mostly focused on instagram (@tzagallo_racing, just in case).

I think you summarized it pretty well, but I'll try to add a little recap here, some of it I had already posted on Facebook, so I apologize if anyone reads it twice.

On 8/4 we first started the car, 8/15 we first rolled it out of the garage, 8/19 the car was on the dyno, and by 8/23 the car was wrapped and ready for its first shake down.

The car is currently making 450whp with 1.2bar of boost (17.5 psi), revving to 7500rpm, we started seeing some oil cavitation after that.

The shakedown was mostly a success, I drove 8 session, the car had lots of grip, but had some wild vibrations in 6th gear. I tried to push through the vibrations, but ended up splitting the 8hp70 in half. My friends drove 7 hours to pick up a new gearbox, while I stayed in the paddock with my brother pulling the old box out. We got the new gearbox in for the last session on Sunday, but the vibrations were still there.

We then rebalanced the driveshaft, replaced the gearbox mounts with softer oem bushings, got the car on the dyno and ran it to the top of 6th gear (~220kmh/136mph), and while there were still some vibrations it felt much better. We also had to strengthen the wing mounts as there was way too much movement.

Before the next event we picked up some nice air jack and fuel ports from Nuke to mount to the fastback, and got the rear air jack installed, that was so cool.

Finally, I drove down to Germany this weekend with Link ECU for the European Time Attack Masters at the Nurburgring. It was such an amazing weekend. Starting from the drive down, which was very long, but it was pretty cool how many cars slowed down to take pictures of the car and every time we stopped for fuel someone would come over to check the car and ask about it.

The first thing we did when we arrived was stop in a questionable spot to take the classic picture under the Nurburgring sign, and within 1 minute Kostas from OneLapHeroes pulled over and came to see the car, what a lucky coincidence! He kindly invited me to his shop to do a build breakdown, which is where the nice pictures above came from. Such a crazy experience, never imagined seeing my car in such a nice setting.

Back to the actual car though... we fought issues with the ABS all day, and couldn't get any proper laps in. However, the positive was the vibration felt much better. It still vibrates significantly after shifting into 6th gear, but not as bad as before, then they completely disappear above 200km/h. The wing was also absolutely rock solid, so we’re making some progress.

Overall, it was an awesome weekend though. We’re experimenting with doing some vlogging, and should have the first video out soon. I’ll share that and the OneLapHeroes video here too.

Have you confirmed U joint angles on both ends of driveshaft? They need to be within about .5° of each other so the normal driveshaft oscillations cancel each other out. Unless you have CV joints on one or both ends..

Additionally, from my research the max output shaft speed on 8HP70s shouldn't exceed 7800rpms. That's where the Dodge Challengers and Chargers limit the transmission, if I am not mistaken. What final drive are you running? I might try to find a lower ring and pinion if you're even touching 7th gear. 7th and 8th gears on these transmission really shouldn't be used for anything other than cruising unless you have a diesel/really low rev-limiter.

I had the opportunity to see the car in person at SPS Motorsport where the guys tried to get the ABS bled. Damn that thing is crazy - it sounds insane...
@tadeuzagallo was nice to meet you there - sorry to see, that the ABS still didn't work proper...
Can't wait to see the recap video of the weekend.

Nice! Been following your updates through IG and really keen on seeing the OLH video. BTW Kostas is a genuinely nice guy, really knowledgeable and really into cool cars, no matter the brand (as every car guy should be). Now you need to give us a proper write-up of all the bits and pieces that have been happening towards getting the car there!
