What are your personal thoughts on pros/cons of gasket vs RTV?

One experience with this style of RTV applicator and you'll never fuck around with another rollup tube again.

Bless you Saint Sav. I'm only a few weeks away from buying the TSE kit, gonna go with the Precision 350 now that I'm pulling "back" to 6758. Is it just dimensions that limit the amount of hp that an IC can support? Like it can only get so much air through purely because of surface area?
Spent a bit looking through IC piping threads, I'm glad I'm deleting AC so I'll have a little more room to work with - will the 350 fit in an NA pretty well? What are some good ducting solutions I should consider when it comes to keeping the engine bay from pressurizing? I can't picture it in my head right now, but there are tons of materials to work with, so that'll be a fun time.
I guess a few other additions, ordered 949 radiator and coolant reroute, Flyin Miata wheel/tire bundle: 15x9 6ULs with R1Rs because they seem to be popular enough.

Updates on how things are going. Got coolant reroute on the new motor. Had to replace driver's side fender before i get my 6ULs so i can roll my fenders, not going to roll a fender that I'm just gonna replace (rust). Motor coming together well though, noob problems being had difficulty trying to get the timing belt on, but I'll go back and tackle that tomorrow.

Pretty much all I have left to buy is TRUBO kit and exhaust. Getting VICS mani this weekend from ThirdGen, then when i have time and a place to do it i can commence tearing my car apart and swapping stuff in.

I am going to break the motor in unboosted, then swap turbo and everything in. Does anyone know if the NA6 exhaust will fit the NA8 exhaust manifold? If that makes sense? The donor car still had intact exhaust manifold but the rest of the exhaust was trashed and cut up either by the junkyard taking the cat or previous owner, so if I can avoid buying the rest of the exhaust I'd prefer that, but if it won't work I'll troll through CL or something.

The header and cat are the only difference. So you'll need a 94-97 cat or test pipe, and it'll bolt to the cat-back.

Apparently, you can mix an NA8 exhaust manifold with an NA6 "downpipe" and cat. You will need to add an O2 bung though, as it was in the manifold on 1.6 cars and in the downpipe on 1.8 cars.

Oh  i forgot to check their guide for it because my mind has been so focused on everything else. Looks like I can indeed just buy a 97 downpipe and 97 cat. Easy enough. Only temporary but legal is still important too lol. Thanks yall.

For what? Oil return? Already have it tapped!

Looks like you've already put the pan on, but a welded bung is a much better solution than tapping the pan. The reason people tap the pan is because you can do it while it's installed, but you only get a couple of threads in some pretty weak aluminum.

It's also a good idea to weld in a bung for a sump oil temp sensor.

If you already have a 1.6 downpipe and cat, the guide says you can use those! Just need the O2 bung.

Hey Ian, I understand and agree that a welded bung will be stronger, it really is a thin wall there. I'll see what i can do to have a bung welded on.

Update 2/4/17

Progress. I'm moving in a few weeks so I'll finally be able to start taking my Miata apart. Just bought a beater Protege5 to drive to work and haul shit around in until it falls apart.
Waiting on Abe to finish my exhaust.
Still have to finish MEGAsquirt, just tuning Pots and putting harness together.
Had bungs welded onto oil pan for return and sump temp sensor.
Transmission, swapped the mechanical speedo from my 5 spd onto the 6 spd.
Flywheel has been resurfaced.
New oring for CAS came, so I can put that on.
Also have installation hardware for KirkRacing roll bar, Garagestar Snugtop brackets to install as well.
Mostly little things now, engine is mostly assembled. I can't believe I've gotten this far. I'm nervous about tuning and electrical stuff but ThirdGen is gonna help me out with that when we install my turbo.
Some pics, I'll take more.
