I can't wait to get in the mix with my turbo Eliminator! Will certainly meet you on track at some point - I'm usually Nasa over Scca, but that may change next year
Just look for the fat redhead trying to squeeze into an Eliminator, lol

Subscribed. 93hp at the wheels is serious fun, 250hp will be insane fun.

So, in anticipation of welding the cage to the frame, I went out (like eBay 'out') and bought a Lincoln mig that should do the job. I've got a precision tig 175 but using it would be painstakingly slow - would make some nice n purty welds though.

Here's trimming around the ABS pump

This car took a pretty good lick to the passenger side - internal structure damage in the rear quarter. It shouldn't affect what I'm doing with it though.

Why aren't you using plasma cutter? With the price of the Chinese ones on ebay you'll spend that much in sawzall blades.

I've got a brand new cutter in the shop - but I was advised not to use it because it makes the cleanup edges (that get welded) much harder to work with b/c of tempering from the plasma cutter.

It'd be mine if the turbo was half the size... very sweet!

I may actually be headed down to Birmingham in a few weeks on business. Definitely will visit Salvagewon if they can find the time :-)

They're actually based in the Auburn area - but if jatow is around (above), maybe he can drive the Smurfinator over to my shop so you can see one that's compete, and mine in progress?

I've got one in Bham, but it may be going back for a spa treatment in Auburn next week (More mods). PM me and I'll let you know. JATow's is always in Bham though.

We've found a blade used for fire rescue that has enabled us to cut the car with a single blade (well two because you need an 8" in a couple spots). We'll make them available on the site when it's up.

Next time Alan comes this way, he needs to bring a couple - I'm out.
