Yes, Step 1 is where i'm currently stuck. Gun shy after getting burned last time. Andrew emailed me because he's a nice guy and said he was making some calls. The results of which will determine how i proceed with step 1. The rest of the plan mirrors my own. :)

As long as you also bring the 2 zig zags to go with it.

You have it all exactly backwards.
Start at 6 and end at 1 for maximum results.

I stand corrected.

I think I tried Magnum or Colt or Old English or something once upon a time when I was young. I don't recall too much about it. Perhaps that's the point.

I do remember Mickey's. They were a little sweet and used to come in 22 or 32 ounce bottles around here. I I recall going to the mall with my brother and one of his friends and we each killed a bottle in the parking lot and then walked around the mall or something. That's been long many years ago.

Sport rear rotor works with std 1.8 calipers? Spoon me, what is special about that rotor?

#3 bold for truth

It does if you have:

M-Tuned brackets (NLA)
Goodwin brackets (NLA)
FM brackets (Available, but couldn't be bothered to actually tell me how much they were)
V8 Roadsters brackets (Soon to be available, they do exist)
Trackspeed brackets (legend, or may be V8R brackets?)
Maruha brackets (You like 300% jdm tax, right?)

They're special because they're more bigger. :)

sixshooter Aug 25, 2017 04:49 PM

I didn't realize they were so special. I got my brackets from somebody somewhere on either 949 or V8 roadsters site. They end up being a very nice balance with the V8R 11.75 dynalite Wilwood up front and pads are easy to find.

z31maniac Aug 25, 2017 05:01 PM

Buy a Wilwood rear setup you cheap, no wheel measuring know how having Philistine.

concealer404 Aug 25, 2017 05:06 PM

Cheap haha.

Dleavitt doesn't have anything on me with his "most expensive TNiA" build. ;)

Is that a challenge?! Not that is one that either of us should be happy to win...:bang:

z31maniac Aug 25, 2017 05:37 PM

Meh, I'm the guy that did the XIDA BGK, Wilwoods at all 4 corners in a short nose, 1.6 open diff NA.

Of course I was planning on a built 1.8 swap down the road, but got tired of the time money committment to a dedicated HPDE car.

concealer404 Sep 6, 2017 06:55 AM

PFC 11s for rear showed up. They're cute and tiny. And of course, because i have 1.8 rear calipers, and these were 1.8 caliper fitment, required 30 minutes of work to file down to fit. Yay.

Trackspeed sent me another rotor as a present, after we decided that i had a fluke occurence. This was nice of them, i like Andrew. :)

And then.... ended up with pretty different pad overhang left/right. Not sure what to do at this point. I don't trust this setup in the slightest anymore. Punting on track day next weekend because i'm just not comfortable with the state of the car.

Driver side with minimal overhang:

Passenger side with pretty different overhang. Easily noticeable at a glance by eyeball. Really frustrated at this point.

Mounting brackets different from each other? Other than L/R, of course.

Savington Sep 6, 2017 01:05 PM

le sigh. I assume that overhang was better on the other rotor?

psyber_0ptix Sep 6, 2017 01:08 PM

The legs of the e-clip's are still straight? Granted you got it in the hole, but they weren't tweaked or anything?

I noticed a lot of radial movement when replacing pads after MATG since the clearance holes are a bit larger, it allowed for some pad shifting.

Savington Sep 6, 2017 02:41 PM

Should not be hard to figure out which part is wrong. Start with measuring the rotors to see if there's a large difference, or just swap them side to side and see if the issue follows. If not that, then swap pads side to side and see if the clip holes were misdrilled. It's not likely to be the calipers or brackets.

I doubt it, but i can check that this coming Sunday hopefully.

Yeah outer overhang was same (or close enough to not notice) L/R with first pair of rotors, they had about 0.5mm-1mm, it was inner overhang that was an issue with the first passenger rotor. Now i have outer overhang on new passenger rotor, i will check inner overhang in the next day or two.

The e-clips are straight and they're a pretty snug fit in the pad. Nowhere near enough slop to account for what i'm seeing.

Yep yep will do. Probably Sunday. Recovering at work today from a half day yesterday, then have friend's wedding stuff Friday and Saturday. Appreciate you holding my hand through this stuff. :)
