Would suck to have welding going on in the trunk while you are driving...GL with the build!

Ah, how can you tell which side is up and down? I put it so the writing is right side up...bah.

Still need to put the spacers on anyway.

Sweet.

I still weep a little when I remember the day my MS came to life.

Just don't tell my wife I was more proud of that than when she gave birth to our daughter.

Don't be intimidated by datalogging and analyzing...it couldn't be easier with this setup.

It's fun to talk to my friends with other makes of cars they are trying to tune and see the engine management bandaids they put up with. I try and talk everyone into the most capable setup similar to MS made for their pile.

I have a buddy with a 10psi Lightning that I leave car lengths behind in the middle of third gear. Poor guy has no idea what his tune looks like...he just knows he's got 5 of them he can switch between on his little card/chip. They go from "smokes rubber but slow" to "damn...what's under the hood of that Prius?"

My last setup on my old turbo Miata was a LINK piggyback... I'm thinking this will be a lot easier to deal with.

Thanks for the vote of confidence though!

And yeah, most people on SVTPerformance.com just get flashes online... kinda weirds me out.

Right now I'm just running the standard 1990 4.3 6" diff. Might have a line on a torsen, though...

Lol, it won't be crazy at all. It's still just a stock, high miliage 1.6l.

However, I did get something today to help give that old motor a bit more life...

Alright, finally update time. Just installed Bilstein shocks, Flyin Miata springs, Fat Cat motorsports Top Hats (with spacers) and some 949Racing adjustable heim jointed endlinks, got a couple pictures before my picture taker left:

Me working on my car, nice shot i think:

My friend Pat working on tightening that long bolt (that wrench eventually fell off on the shakedown run, bad Pat!):

Also, got the BMW going!

Ok, so finally some updates. Easy to install parts got my spirit back into this:

Added these, my 1.6 stock n/a engine now tops out at 150:

Then i added this and got up to 155:

Then added a clutch clip so i can start the car with the clutch out, that adds about 10 horsepower. Off hunting down M3's now, from a 70 roll.

Up next:

Then i'll be a real touge monster!

Have, still to install:
Complete ES bushing kit
4.1 Torsen w/mmr mounts
MMR engine mounts

Edit:
Dirty car to keep the po-po off my back, ya know.
List for self reference:
MSPNP
Touge Run Lip
Carbon mirrors
COP's
LC1 wideband
Six speed
Voodoo ****
6lb flywheel + ACT XTSS clutch/pp
Depowered PS
Weight removal
Race wheel
Hello kitty bits
PC680 battery
Bilstien R-Package shocks
Flyin Miata springs
949 racing endlinks
FCM mounts and spacers
Decent HU and speakers

And i have a very shiny bit coming up soon... need to figure out how to cut the rear bumper for that.

If this a street car, you're going to hate life with that exhaust and mmr mounts. Just sayin.

Exhaust is just beginning. Abe at ARTech is doing it, very excited to get it.

The MMR's are supposed to be livable if you have them back and front, from the research i've done. If not, i'll just put one Mazdacomp mount on one side, read that'll take care of it.

i actually had an exhaust exactly like that before on an N/A Miata, except it ended with an uncapped supertrapp under the trunk. Liked it except on the highway. Would like a louder turbo Miata this time around.
