Default Haraise's slow build thread...

Mainly doing this for myself, to have a build log. Not going to be the fastest or flashiest build ever...

My fourth Miata, Haraise.

Thanks! ^_^ I have a matching Hello Kitty oil cap too. I love her with the little scarf, racing.

You come near my cat and I shoot. o.o

SS Clutch Line:

Prop Valve:

Some of the current weight loss:

My FD RX7 steering wheel:

Custom shift ****:

Tonight I'll be putting on the steering wheel, update when that happens.

One Miata waiting patiently, one getting ready to get a new flywheel/clutch, and another car to drive at the moment...

Edit: Why won't I love the MMR mounts? I had Mazda Comp mounts in my last car and thought stiffer yet would be better.

Installed the wheel, it's not as small as I'd expected, but I can still see my gauges, so I'm not complaining! The adaptor and deep dish puts the wheel much closer to me, which is awesome for me, as I like the wheel up close. I'm pretty happy about this, here's a crappy night pic:

Been busy with something else lately, but I'm currently putting in a six speed transmission, 8lb flywheel, ACT Extreme clutch and SS clutch line right now.

The something else:

I'll take the 318 off your hands if you need less distractions...

The BMW is being pulled apart, likely needs a head gasket.

The Miata... has some rust on the bottom. How unexpected, for an Arizona car. Grinding it down and spraying it over with some paint.

My frame rails are pretty much all pwnt, unsure what to do there. Box them in? Cut out and replace? Ignore it?

My frame rails underneath are pretty jacked up to. My car is fast and can take turns fast, so I don't give a ****. Later I might get some of those nifty bolt in rails.

Progress!

Installing the 1.6 Fidanza flywheel and ACT Extreme + Organic clutch and flywheel, with the six speed looking on...

And with it installed, I have shifting again! It'll take a while to learn that I have six speeds... haven't had that since the NC.

And up next...

FM springs, FCM mounts, bilsteins. That'll be first unless my Megasquirt shows up soon...

Progress makes me a happy panda.

Question: How do you save the boots from the shifter that you've recently bought and installed?

Answer: Goatse...

And my god, I've now been distracted by Left 4 Dead 2... up until 6:20 because I can't get past the bridge in advanced...

Some more work done lately, more little things...

Like wondering how my front PPF bolt stayed on before I took it off... There's not a nut up top?!?

Setup a battery mount in the stock location:

And rewired the reverse switch (turns out that it doesn't matter which wires you put together):

Still can't drive the car until I get my Megasquirt, so haven't been rushing...

Can you flip the battery over in the mount? I ask because the posts appear awfully close to the deck...

Thank you.
