Now have a running VVT engine in the car! Got some help from my friend Semir!

Maybe I should actually start building it or something, or let my cat play with it all. |
D: ...son of a bitch.

Did you decide on a turbo and mani?

AC compatable, ramhorn, and that can fit an EFR turbo. For the moment I'll be on a GT2560R, shooting for 300-320whp, then I'll need a built engine/twin disk clutch/3.63's/15x9's and then a BW EFR 6258 and shoot for 450whp. |
My post could probably go in the EFR thread, but here are some useful links to follow, regarding EFR turbos in the wild:
http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread...744766&page=11 http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...949651&page=36 BTW regarding "older" turbo technology check out the GT3071 action going on at FM. Note that they hit those numbers with a shitty old log manifold. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=408745 |
I've been in contact with Full Race, I live near them. I quit posting on the EFR thread because I got crap there, mainly from you. Been invited to see them tuning their latest K series stuff...
They have a dyno of all three B1 series turbos on a Miata, on a crappy setup, but they still give good power and spool. Can't share it as the setup isn't optimized and posting it would reflect poorly on them. Their IWG has shown to hold boost more stable than a 44MM Tial external, which was impressive. They say the 6258 will respond to throttle much like a 2860RS and the 6758 is more like a 2871R... that the 6258 is shown to be the one to have on a Miata and it feels lively. Testing got rid of the B1 twin scroll options as it wasn't worth keeping. Inconel hardware with 'spiralock' threads will be out, said to make it not need safety wiring. I think that's all I can share at the moment, I haven't heard back about more of what's permitted recently. |

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread...744766&page=11 Very nice. A bigger turbo with better response and around 40whp & 40wtq improvements. Makes me want one even more.

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=408745 And don't knock their manifolds. They are very nice compared to what we used to have to use. http://www.flyinmiata.com/projects/t...s/IMG_1793.jpg http://www.flyinmiata.com/projects/t...manifold-1.jpg http://www.flyinmiata.com/projects/t...manifold-4.jpg I'm honestly thinking about picking one up to run with my EFR this summer. |
Look what is slowly being populated.

Also, are you going large or small runners? 1.25 vs 1.5 |
Sent money off to ARTech once more, deposit on manifold and downpipe. Looking for equal length and room for an EFR and AC, no PS... sch40 mild and 1.25" runners. Should be interesting.
Also, for the efr I'll need this: http://i52.tinypic.com/359bnd5.jpg |
Busy with the BMW again:
