18psi 08-25-2014 10:43 AM

Same here. Is that POR15 or something like that?

Not sure about the paint... That is how it came from the engine builder, he did a super nice job, everithin was washed in an ultrasonic bath and assembled with new water jacket and oil galley plugs.
Wish i had the $$ to send him my spare head too, that will be my next porn session LOL

18psi 08-25-2014 11:47 AM

Nice. If you can ask him next time you talk that would be awesome. If not, no big deal.

Te car is back together after an all nighter, the only issue i had was to get the oil pump primed, i ended up removing the oil galley plug at the pump and filling it with oil with a siringe, that did the trick and it build pressure right away after that.
Car is running great so i plan on putting a few miles and going back to the dyno for a re tune after insalling a new intake cam with all this work.

Excellent build! It looks like I'm going to be using the majority of the same hard parts that you are. Looking forward to seeing the new dyno numbers!

Installed a skunck TB, EGT's for each cylinder for tuning as well as a dual feed fuel rail and AEM rising rate pressure regulator, i think that i will install an E85 sensor as well and get a tune for 93 pump gas and E85 at the same time

The rear helper spring adapter was touching the perch when going over bumps and making alittle noise so i ended up installing the tender spring on the bottom, this seems to have solved the problem https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1420414407

I've always seen helpers below mains, FYI.

What lengths springs and what ride height are you able to achieve?

HHammerly 01-04-2015 10:17 PM

Static is 12.5" F 13" R (picture on post #49 is at static height)
Compression to koni bump stops ( pretty soft bump stops will allow additional 0.75" suspension travel at full compression "just a guess")
10" F, 10.75"R
Full droop 15.675"F, 15.375" R

Hi Harold! :wavey:

How do you like the oil temp sensor in that location? I feel like I failed my first time around and your location is better.

HHammerly 01-14-2015 09:30 PM

The sender has worked well there, is out of the way but below the oil level. I have been thinking to change out the gauge in the future for one that has a 0-5v output for the MS3 but am not sure if the larger sender will clear the front subframe

The car was tunned by Scott from DYI last month, it makes 337 hp @ 19 psi

I ended up using a manual boost controller with a knob in the dash so i can change boost without having to plug the laptop and i really like how that is working here is a data log for 15 psi

Took the car to the drag strip to see what it will do and found it difficult to get a desent run, wheel hop on first and second gears and missed 4 to 5 th gear changes so my best run was a 13.1 (the first run on the video and MS log) still was a lot of fun

Oo, hardlines! How long is that run? I'd imagine it might be a good idea to put something in there to support them, but that looks pretty damn clean as-is. Verry nice.

Right now the un supported run is 24" , will be installing another support block from the sway bar bearring block area

Love this build!

Hopefully I'll be able to see it in person sometime as you are somewhat local to me.

All of these sick ass NBs are making me want to sell off the NA, lol.
