Cool pics. It's pretty awesome you've had it kicking round for 20 years.

Yeah, M.A. Shaw fiberglass trunk lid (same weight as the carbon ones, but half the price). I think the "lights" on the trunk are actually just reflectors anyway.

And also a pita to reattach once you cut all the structure out of the trunk. But I wouldn't know anything about that.

It's been a year since I posted here and in that time I drove the Miata... twice? Sigh. It's leaking oil somewhere at the front passenger side of the motor and I have a horrible feeling it's the O-ring for the oil pump. Motor probably needs to come out.

Oh, and it needs smog again.

On the bright side I went and did TT4 at NASA with the beemer last weekend. Man it feels slow after detuning to 250 rwhp, but was my first time on Hoosiers as well. Came in 3rd in TT4 (out of 7), but I need to go find 2-3 more seconds before there's any point in trying ST4. I can see about half of that delta in the AIM data just from cleaning up what I'm doing now and being more consistent, the other half is going to require looking further.

Last weekend as in 26/27?

I know these feels... mine probably has year old gas in it and I can smell coolant, but can't find the source. No oil leak though. By the end of the summer it probably won't have any clear coat left on the hood

Yes. I was there Friday 6/25 for the TMR pre-NASA test day, and then 2 days of NASA 6/26-27.

damn, I was over at Tech the entire time, weighing cars and pointing the obvious out to idiots. I swear one day I will open a thread called “the stupid things people are OK to go out on track”.

come say hi next time!

Does that mean you can just polish it like single stage now?

I didn't know you were there! Do you always run tech at NASA?

I probably won't go to NASA again until October. I have a policy of not going to Thunderhill in July/August, and a conflict with the next Sonoma event.

Yep, I'm always there unless something comes up. If you (or any other local MT.nutters) need a tech, PM me and I can come out to you. I can do an annual, but you'll still need to come to tech to get your sticker from the chief scrutineer, but that's easy (he's the only one who has those). I don't have any log books to issue, unfortunately.

Heh, TC Design handled the inspection & log book on my car (pretty straightforward -- they built it and it goes there regularly for nut/bolt/etc), but thanks!

I figured Tony did it for you since I haven't seen your car come through, but I thought I'd offer just in case.

Not even plausibly Miata-related, but WTF:

Spent the last 3 days driving BRZs in dirt/gravel at DirtFish, up in Washington. This is so much fun.

Due to covid concerns I decided to drive up instead of flying.

They have an AWD school that uses a WRX STi, but the RWD school is BRZs. Everyone recommended the RWD school.

Things get dirty. I'm glad I don't have to wash the cars.

End of the school, this was awesome.
