Very interested in your thoughts regarding the fluidampr, Andy.
I recall a Flyin’ Miata YouTube video lately where Jeremy said an aftermarket harmonic balancer is the first thing he’d do to any BP engine. Even a bone stock car. Reason being it smooths the engine out so much, can get more ignition timing in, etc.

Went to drive the car today and the brake pedal was on the floor. My rear caliper had been leaking from the parking brake adjustment o ring. I had new stuff just sitting around but I had been lazy and kept adding brake fluid. Once the caliper **** the bed I had to replace it lol.
Also bought that sweet aluminum overflow tank off eBay. I like it.
New rear brakes nothing special just cheap rotors and rebuilt calipers with stoptech 309 pads.
These aluminum overflow tanks are like 65 bucks. It's honestly pretty damn nice.

Here is a log from last night. Boost is 22psi tapering down to 20ish by redline. Knock ramp shows a max of .46V which is well under my threshold for pulling timing. Anything over .60V on my car is probably actual knock.

Also a couple more things while I'm thinking about it. Ordered an adjustable wastegate actuator. It comes with springs and you can set it up however you want. I'm gonna play with that and my Forge MBC that I've been using since 2016 before I go with a ebc of some sort. Trying to get it to hold boost up top. I moved the mbc to a much cleaner spot looks pretty decent.
The fluidampr definitely made a difference. I think it's mostly that the car revs so smoothly now. Like rev matching gear changes, you feel less vibration in the clutch pedal etc. I like it and it looks good and now that along with the BE pump I have I don't forsee any issues down there.
Here is the forge MBC I run. I have used plenty of ebc's in the past and agree they are better. I'm gonna rock this a little longer but I've had my eye on the GReddy OLED so pretty soon I'll probably upgrade to that

Hey Andy,
happy to hear you're satisfied with the new damper.
For an EBC solenoid I can only recommend the Pierburg 7.01024.02.0 if your ECU is able to control it. These go for like 25$ new and are very reliable, easy to set up, look OEM-like and at 100% duty don't let any air through.
I think I have mine running at 26hz.

haha, luckily with an EBC Im hoping I can ramp boost say 19psi ramping to 23-24psi if the turbo will go that high after 5500rpm. I know I need roughly 22.5psi to make 400 at the very top of the rev range, and a lot of times the massive early torque creates traction issues. I have already broken one 6 speed, I actually need to find a spare just incase.

honestly they are pretty dang quiet unless it's really really cold like 32*F and below. I've run wisecos in this block twice. Once from 2004-2015 and now from 2017-2022. The wisecos that came out of the engine I could have reused bc they were in that good of shape but they were a 84mm bore and I went to 84.5mm this time around. I've had such good luck with wiseco I see no reason to run anything else especially not supertech bc IMO they are far far inferior to wisecos

I hope it works well. Yes and you are right I could have taken the 400 I spent and put it towards a ms3. But my hydra works well and I have the tune so dialed now that it makes sense to stick with it

In addition to the GReddy Profec I also bought an adjustable wastegate. Its made by Arashi, same company that makes the compressor housing and wheel I have been using. I honestly would not mind to run any of their stuff on my car, its all very high quality. The WG is ideltical to a TurboSmart IWG. It is a dual port but right now Im not using that functionality of it. Once I install the Profec Ill try duty cycle increase at high rpm to see if I can get it to hold more than 21-22psi at redline. Ideally I would like to see a flat 24psi all the way across the powerband. Preliminary testing with a 1.3 bar spring combo in the gate with 2 clicks on the MBC was seeing 24psi peak and 22psi at redline in HOT weather so this is actually very promising. I thought my Garrett gate was a 1.1 bar but it was actually .8bar so that could have been my issue all along. At high rpm with the .64 housing Im sure backpressure is pretty high so holding boost at high rpm will be a challenge but Im doing everything I can to maximize this turbo and setup.
I also bought a prosport water temp gauge since I have an extra spot on my gauge pillar that Im not using and its a important gauge to have. I have some extra nylon an-6 that I am going to use to lengthen my water lines and get them out of the way of the compressor inlet so we can finally make an intake for it. Yep, so I am lavishing my car with gifts lets see how it repays me lol
Decided to also buy an adjustable wastegate. It's also a dual port and I may mess with that when I install the profec. It's made by arashi which honestly their quality is up there with anything I've seen. It's a copy of the turbosmart iwg75. It might even be be from the same factory because it's pretty much exactly the same.
Water temp gauge, new superstat, extra water line, and the profec OLED will all be installed hopefully by this next weekend.
