Oh, is there an oem filter there?
I just don't have the little black thing in the engine bay anymore, and fuel vapor is quite strong. I was thinking of eliminating that whole line to the engine bay, and just putting a filter wherever it goes on the fuel tank.
I haven't researched this yet. I just figured fuel vapor in the engine bay is asking for a fire.

You should plug the line in the engine bay, then mod the gas cap so it doesn't hold pressure. Otherwise, the only place you can place a filter is on top of the tank, you'd have to find some way to filter it outside the trunk.
Modding the gas cap so it won't retain pressure is kinda like sticking a filter directly on the tank. You can just cap the evap line in the engine bay then, or you can cap it on top of the tank. It will still fume off a bit, but at least it's outside.

As for the link to the filter, Google search "mini cone filter" And the first Amazon result will get you there.
