Hitting it up next Wednesday hopefully. Just waiting on parts right now. I'm having the ring and pinion cryo treated and that will be ready on Tuesday. The diff mounts arrived this morning and a few other things should be here tomorrow. I'm waiting until I get the new rims to mount the new tires. So until the new 6ULs are here I will be running on the tires that I have now.
It's mainly going back to the track next week to see how the gearing is changing things. With the new gears and fluid I should be able to cross the line in 4th gear. At just over 8K I will trap right around 120 and that's my goal for now. Then all I will need to do is work on my 60ft and I should have some respectable times. If I get to a point where I need 5th gear at the strip then I will bump the power up to make it worthwhile to do so. It's funny how making the power is now the easy part.

Even with a V8 I think it would have a turbo or two on it. That's the plan for the future though.
Nope, the Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts from FM. Going to pull the diff to do the gears so it seemed like the right thing to do.

Let me know how the cryo-treating goes on the gears and if you see a significant increase in durability. I myself am looking at getting an 01+ rear end and having it cryo-treated to withstand these same power levels, only in a road race car rather than drag. I figure if it can survive your car, it could survive mine.

The diff mounts won't really make much of a difference from what I have seen. The few cars I have ridden in with them and the motor mounts felt similar to mine with the stock stuff that was in great condition. It was mainly felt in the shift feel and will do a great deal to stop wheel hop. Most people notice a big difference when they go from a broken motor mount and very old diff mounts to the poly stuff. Even if it's more I will live with it unless it severely takes away from being a street car. I just can't touch a part on this car without upgrading it somehow.

Where would you put an engine damper in this sequence? After the motor mounts and diff mounts?
I know someone that solved the problem by put a cross brace at the transmission and bolted the transmission rigidly. Lots of vibration but solved the shifting problem. I really don't want to be taking this on and off before every event.

I'm not sure if I will really ever know how much it helps, but I am picking up the ring and pinion on Tuesday. There's a great place that's somewhat local that I'm using to get it cryotreated. He's a fellow racer that does this on the side and his prices are very reasonable.
With the clutch type lsd it should leave the ring and pinion as the weak area in the rear. Overall, I want the clutch to give before anything else in the drivetrain. I'm already past what it should be holding, so with any luck it will just slip instead of letting me destroy something.

Just taking a little longer than expected. Ended up making a bunch of other little changes along the way to improve things. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a few pictures and will go for a drive to see if there's an improvement. Regardless, as long as the weather is nice on Friday and I don't break it before then, it's going to the track for a proper beating.
