Not too bad. Still having decision anxiety lol. As soon as I figure out the 100% best way i'll cut the hole and weld it. It will be done this afternoon for sure. I was pretty sick yesterday and just couldn't think straight so rather than do something i'd regret I decided to wait til today.

Wayne, that mani looks great. I can't wait to see how mine comes out.

Yours will come out great. Starting on it tomorrow, should have it done by this weekend but then again everything takes longer than I seem to think it will =P

Ok all done. In the end for the wastegate I decided proper boost control was going to be more important to you than your dump tube routing (which will be fun for you). You'll have to route your dump tube around the front and underneath the manifold.

Pm'd you on pricing.

johnmatt 02-15-2010 07:00 PM

I'm sure I can get a dump tube in there without much trouble

wayne_curr 02-15-2010 07:02 PM

Oh by the way, one awesome aspect of this manifold is that you can install it with the turbo and the wastegate bolted onto it. Also, your downpipe routing is going to be as simple as it gets.

That looks amazing. Nice job.

That looks great Wayne!

nice work

I was going to make a comment about this being JohnMatt's half-fast build...and then I saw that manifold. That looks nice, and +1 on awesome downpipe routing.

I love that manifold, it's definitely unique. Are you freelance or do you only build for valued members? ;)

Fireindc 02-20-2010 08:06 PM

Coming along nicely good sir.

Got me some tires. Getting rid of that CR stretched BS that was on the car when I got it. Got two 215/40 that was posted a few months ago for $36 a piece and got some 245/35s last weekend in a trade for my old manifold and DP plus $60 on his end. Good deal if I do say so myself. On with the pics

Wayne- is that sched40 pipe? what's the mani weigh?

The 215 almost looks too narrow for the wheel... almost. I'm surprised. But way better than the prior.

Yes, schedule 40. Mani weighs 20lbs with the EWG hanging off of it.

It looks better in person. The pics make it look alittle stretched but it fits perfect IMO. And yes WAY better than those 205s that were there

Braineack 02-22-2010 12:53 PM

it's a shame that those toyos are the only thing in 245/35

m2cupcar 02-22-2010 01:55 PM

Wayne- any concerns for the weight cantilevered off the head? Now's the time to look at possible bracing... am I crazy?

I picked up set of the same tires and plan to get some 16x8s for them, so that's good to know. And yes, somebody else needs to make some 245/35s to drive the price down- those things are through the roof.

I thought about that. I didn't give him any guarantees on cracking so he may want to consider it. Overall though i'm really not concerned with cracking at the head flange, more so cracking at the EWG outlet since he's running a VTA dump tube.

johnmatt 02-22-2010 02:14 PM

I'll make some supports for the manifold and dump tube to keep from cracking. Hopefully I'll get the toyos mounted in the next few days to see how they fit. I'm glad I didn't pay for those tires too.
