Default Ken's WTAC build

Long time lurker, first time posting a build thread.
I've been putting this off for ages, as I am just lazy and don't usually update build threads.

So here we go.

First bought my Clubman a few years ago, it was pretty much stock except someone had removed the Bilsteins and replaced them with cheap KYB replacements.
Did the usual mods - tyres, rollbar, lowered springs - then decided to throw some boost at the tired old engine.
First started with a T28, then went to a GT2560, then a GTX2860, and finally to it's current turbo, a Gen 2 GTX2867.
I swapped to a VVT engine at the same time as getting the GTX2860, and did a 6 speed swap as well at the time.
The car has mostly been build on a budget, but has tried not to skimp on the obvious things.

My dad and I built the engine, and I have done most of the aero work myself, as well as doing things like replace coilovers, bushes, rollbar, other basic ****.
Most of the fabrication and tuning has been done by NitroDann, as his workshop is less than an hour from where I live.
As an end result, we achieved 454whp on ~30psi on E85, with a mostly linear power curve.

The current setup is as follows:
Engine:
-Manley rods
-SuperTech 10:1 pistons
-ACL bearings
-ARP studs
-Stage 2 oil pump
-ATI damper
-ID 1300X injectors
-Gen 2 GTX2867
-NitroDann twistmount2 and dump pipe
-Full 3" exhaust
-Head has slightly larger ports, cleaned up, and smoothed/polished combustion chambers
-Running a MS2PNP with VVTuner box
-Oil cooler, larger alloy radiator, 240mm tall intercooler.
Drivetrain:
-6 speed
-3.9 welded diff with poly mounts
Suspension:
-MCA Blues recently rebuilt with 12/9 springs
-24mm adjustable front swaybar
-12mm rear standard swaybar
-Adjustable upper front control arms, with poly bushes in the rest of the arms.
Brakes:
-TSE 11.75 BBK Dynapro 4 piston kit
-Standard NA8 rear, but have been on the search for 'Sport' rear brakes for a while with no luck.
-Hawk DTC-80 pads all round
Wheels/tyres:
-15x9 Konig Dial-ins with Hankook Z214 (pretty much dead)
-17x9 ND 6UL for WTAC with the control tyre, Yoko AD08R in 245/40 (Will get 255/40 when these run out)
Aero:
-APR GTC200 wing
-Lightyear fastback (yet to be delivered)
-Custom sideskirts
-Usual crusher-style airdam with fibre/kevlar splitter.
-DIY alloy diffuser.

Goals for the car are to compete in WTAC 2018, and hopefully achieve a top 5 position. As well as competing in Challenge Bathurst, 20 min sprint sessions of Australia's most popular track.
I still have a bit of work to do to get it ready to race, but should be finished within a month.
The to do list is:
-Finish fitting the front aero as to detach quickly
-Paint and fit side skirts
-Fabricate new mounts for the APR wing
-Spend time on the interior trimming brackets and removing unnecessary items
-Fit the Raspberry Pi dash I have been working on, and setup the GPS logging features on it.
-Fabricate new cooling duct-work, and integrate brake cooling ducts into the sides of it.
-General clean/polish the car.
-As much seat time as I can afford!!!!

Let me know what you guys/gals think, and any suggestions/criticisms as to the setup, as I am always looking for improvement.

Finally finished off all the aero, ducting, and general cleanup and getting it ready for a logbook.
Took it for a quick drive on a private road, and wow it is ******* quick.
Coming from ~280whp up to over 450whp is a big change.
The 245 wide tyres (Yokohama AD08R) had no chance in the first few gears.
Getting pre-logbook scrutineering tomorrow and will try to get to the earliest test and tune day that I can.

I mean at what point is removing the bumper prettier than cutting it?

How did you fit 17x9 with 245 width tires under an NA fender? Did I misunderstand?

Genuinely curious as I'm hoping to upgrade my tire/wheel setup this year.

I would remove it, but the rules state that the wing must be over the body or boot in plan view, so keeping the bumper lets me put the wing further back.

The offset is fairly high at +45, as they are 6ULs made for the ND.
Front guards have been pulled, rolled and at the bottom where it attaches to the body have been spaced out by 50mm.

took me a while to find the turbo, nice build - Have any dyno sheets of those 30 psi pulls?

I would personally love to see them

The car will be tested at Aus Time Attack 23-25 June. The quickest tin tops ever in Australia will be there. The outright record for the track is a 700whp carbon DC2 Integra. It ran a 57.8 We hope to run at least 65.

Update time!

We did alright at AusTimeAttack, but not as fast as we hoped.
Got a best of 68.5, but was hoping for a 65 or better.
Tyres are a few years old, alignment wasn't the best, and we ran out of pad life after 3 full sessions.

A lot of things I can blame, but I think the biggest would be lack of practice.
The last time I drove the car on a full sized track was October last year, and the car has changed a lot since that outing.

Anyway, I ordered a new set of pads, plus a spare set, as well as a few other items that I should have got a while ago, namely 3" brake ducts, hood vents and rear caliper spacers, to run the 'Sports' rotors.

I got an email on Monday letting me know I have been accepted into the 2018 World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney, which was a surprise as I got rejected at the initial round of invitations.
So I am currently getting the car ready to get some practice in before then.

Heres a few pics since the last update:

So, you reduced the size of the front bumper opening (to reduce drag?), and then you expand the flow area right in front of the radiator. Are you deliberately slowing the air down when it hits the radiator? Is this primarily a cooling thing or an aero thing?

I guess it is a bit of both.
Expanding the area right in front of the radiator just allows us to utilize the full size of the radiator.
The size of the opening is large enough to keep the car cool enough on the track (So far with the length of track sessions tested).

Ok, gotcha. My first thought was that you had restricted the inlet a lot, and then were slowing the air down...which didn't seem to make sense from a cooling perspective. But it makes sense that you just made the opening as small as it could be and still keep the car cool; so it's primarily an aero thing. Nice work, it looks slick!

Are you class limited to such a small splitter?

Ken it's pretty clear from those photos how much more camber you need.
