I would not advise putting any effort into making it do things until you have a working TPS.

Makes sense. Even got the jumper on the vtps nodes and that did nothing. Double checked the wiring and nothing. But I did also find out the shop didn't plumb my intake idle tube into the piping, which was causing bad idling. I'll have to rig something up

That won't work on my dumpster fire 1.6 though will it?

Oh that's right.

Ok then source UK market NB 1.6 manifold and throttle body.

Probably easier to do a VVT swap and leave it n/a.

Eh, if I swap it, it'll be ecotec. And for that I'll leave it at my local shop while I'm on deployment. 6 months should be plenty of time for that.

One bad idea to the next. I like it. You go hard.

Is there something wrong with the ecotec swap?

Probably hard to find in the search function amongst all the Brain/18psi/Concealer404 circle jerks, but you'd probably have had to intentionally avoid every mention of "Ecotec" on various Miata forums to miss them.

Which also makes the idea pretty obviously un-researched.

Alright, alright. I've looked it up multiple times before but haven't heard much in the way of bad reliability. I know the engine mounts are harsh and it's not the best for the street, but it seems like a great bump in power.

I think the ecotec is a POS junk motor personally. K series swap is the one to go with IMO.

I agree. This car needs a K swap.

Maybe this time around I'll just go with "to hell with budget". Spend the money once. Even though I already spent it...

This car now belongs to me. I have no need for a second MKturbo Miata, and the most prudent move would be an immediate part out and transfer of the good bits to my car. That, howvever, is no fun and would be a sad end so I am going to make a concerted effort to getting it moving.
