I haven't worked on it recently due to some health issues. I'll let you know later when I start jacking with it again. Thanks for the help, I know it's not your job.

Now I still need VVTuner, silicone hoses, and a timing belt.
  • Who sells a silicone "head-oil warmer-t-body" hose?
  • I really want a 1994 upper hose and a 1999 lower rad hose. Will anyone break-up their kit for me like this?
  • Who makes a PCV plug for my 1994 style header?

New firmware makes the car idle significantly better with AC cycling. I'm not sure what Dimitris did, but its much better. He also helped me "geat real" on the enrichments settings.

This is totally stupid, I never realized the taper settings on the left side of the screen under MAPdot affected the TPSdot. haha

Make sure you have an LC-1 programming cable (DB-9 to 2.5mm jack) handy, you need it to program the VVTuner.

I haz one, thanks for the advice. I plan to run the standard DIY table on it considering its a stock engine and they already did the work on the dyno.

Make sure to change the trigger output to "Inverted" on the VVTuner.

I was going to use this unless you have something better.

I'm eventually going to move all this crap to the first post so people can go there for a walk-through on VVT swapping. Thanks for the help.

Those are all MS3X settings for VVT. The VVT Tuners settings are much simpler. Besides changing the one setting Reverent said, I doubt you will need to change anything else.

Has anyone ever bolted a 3.63 to a 5-speed car and seen a huge improvement in fuel economy?

No, but I will be doing it as soon as I can find a old mx-6 rear end close enough to me.

There are a few in Washington, but the shipping for the whole rear end would cost me more than the cost of new gears.

I guess I should start a wtb thread.

If economy is all you care about, I'm pretty sure it would help. Car would be mind numbingly slow tho

I'm going to a 6/3.63 and I suspect the 400rpm drop will help. If not at least I can ***** on the phone while I drive.

Yes, to my dads car.

Made zero difference to economy, however cruising was a bit more pleasant with the lower revs.

I should add that my dads car has a coldside supercharger (M45), and still runs the stock ECU with eManage, so you may see gains with tuning. Seriously doubt those gains would be huge though.
