Very strange, I had a dream about an 04 I believe gto last night after the maita dream, the year they put the ls1 in it. This time I was running from a helicopter. So odd

We both have very similar turbo setups and dreaming about similar things. Maybe you're my long lost brother or something. Did the GTO look like this?

Yeah I'm not a fan of blue really either, but had no choice

Back on topic, tonight I'll be putting a new belt on, and moving my WG ref port back to the compressor nipple to see if that makes it better..

I'm also going to adjust the WI to turn on later.

Haha no problem at all.. got the new belt today, just got home from work and really don't feel like working on it. Forza 3 instead, probably gonna do it tomorrow before work.

Any updates? I'm curious as to how 15psi runs with this turbo.

I wasn't able to drive the car this weekend, it was raining all weekend and I was busy as hell. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day the rain will be gone and I'll get to drive it, I'll let you know.

Ok it should be done raining by now. How confident are you in your stock pistons holding up to 15psi? I'm on the fence about getting supertechs or hoping the stockers hold up

I have that same mani on my setup, but instead of cutting a hole for the wastegate I bought a t3 to t3 adapter with the wastegate flange in the middle that bolts between the turbo and the mani. Cast I tricky to weld, and I hope that you heated up both parts with a torch really good before you welded it, if you dont heat it up it doesnt get good penetration and the weld is weak. Props on the Diy, I think it looks great, Good Luck!

Your right, i totally forgot to update this thread.. will do today. As far as the pistons, I'm hoping WI combined with a safe a/f ratio will be enough to keep my pistons happy even at 18 or so psi. We will see I guess.

I thought about doing that, but space/flow questions led me to do this. I did pre-heat it and if it cracks, I can easily re-weld it. However, I only plan to run this mani for about a year because next winter I want to do a new mani.

With the adapter piece that I used the turbo sits maybe 3/4 from being flush with the top of the valve cover. So clearance was almost an issue, but I think that I just got lucky!

This is the one that I used and I only got it for $5 b/c the kid I bought it from bought the wrong one:
