is that on wg spring or with an ebc? cause that's super laggy
and way too rich

EBC on basic mode, gain at 300. Wga is preloaded to 12 psi. Working on afr, but there aren't many roads near I feel safe doing pulls on without getting caught and my dyno is currently down. I've been chipping away at the tuning one hour at a time after work.

I hate the way it feels and drives.

From what I have seen, being leaner going into boost helps spool up immensely; with the help of Vlad's tuning, I have seen a great improvement in that. You could be leaner everywhere and it would probably help a lot; easier than changing turbos

I'm trying very hard not to want a NB2. The cost and pain of swapping everything over..can't be worth it lol

18psi 08-17-2017 01:02 PM

there's only so much you can do when you've a mis-matched turbo, but yeah if you play with the ebc and have it stay completely shut until you bulid like 4-5psi it should help. leaner mixtures should help a bit too. more timing should help. e85 would help a whole lot. other than that this slug will never touch the response you had with the t25

I'll have to pull the logs, but it stays at 80% d/c until after 5 psi iirc. Possibly why it overshoots so hard.

Ouch. in that case you'll need a smaller hotside, or better yet, see if you can sell this setup and go EFR :D

Lexzar 08-17-2017 02:00 PM

Buy mine so I have an excuse to go K. :giggle:

Or run a 6spd/4.3 and you'll always be so high in rpm, you won't notice

That combo is in my garage with this same turbo. There's a reason i'm not bothering to even see what it's like. That said, looking at dyno charts of what's in my garage showed it making 200wtq MUCH earlier than him.

My own personal theory is:
1) 3rd gear pulls
2) needs more tuning
3) FM hotside wasn't really designed for anything bigger than 2560
4) Original head may be in need of a rebuild

Lexzar 08-17-2017 02:25 PM

In case you ever feel the self hatred to build your own, yet worse, MSM miata.

concealer404 08-17-2017 02:26 PM

Fun fact: My first miata was an MSM. It was also the first Miata i sold.

To vteckiller2000.

Lexzar 08-17-2017 02:32 PM

So much community here. Most SoCal miatas i see are all stance boizzzz

Really glad you're ok -- that was an ugly wreck.

Also really glad that now both you and Ben are back, cuz this is seriously entertaining. :likecat:

The incestual relationship goes deeper than you realize. We have another trick up our sleeves in the works.

I'm not above either. However, if I can get the spool down say, 800 rpm with just a .64 housing I'd be totally down.

Lexzar 08-17-2017 05:24 PM

It should be much better than it is now with what is most likely a 0.64 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...n-12-5-psi-jpg

That is a .86ar.

Source: It's sitting in my garage.

Lexzar 08-17-2017 05:32 PM

Okay, so my point is even more so, it could be much better with a 0.64ar. I need to either catch up on every post ever made and learn the complex, strings of the relationships and who bought what or just keep posting things everybody already knows [utag=]ridetheclit[utag]

concealer404 08-17-2017 05:36 PM

Well to be fair, it does say in the thread you linked that it was the .86ar. ;)

I believe that chart actually supports two of my theories, though. That's not an FM hotside in that chart, and it was 5th gear.

vteckiller2000 08-17-2017 05:51 PM

Due to obligations, my 5th gear pull logs will be delayed until possibly Saturday or Sunday.

I'll do one or two pulls as it stands currently, then lean out everything a lot and do some more. I'll post results here so we can all laugh at my flaccid torque.
